'For the latest episode of the Down in Dorset podcast, hosts Tim and Lizzie are joined by dairy farmers Tom and James. They explore the differences between 'organic' and 'conventional' farming systems, how dairy farming in Dorset has drastically changed over the years and how AI and technology are having an impact. The podcast also digs into these local farmers views on the pressures from supermarket prices, shifting views about protein and dairy in healthy diets, and how cows affect climate change. It's a fascinating and interesting insight into this very important Dorset industry.' - @dorsetcounciluk @second_natureuk @nfu_mutual Go give it a listen today! 🎧 /DorsetCouncilUK/posts/for-the-latest-episode-of-the-down-in-dorset-podcast-hosts-tim-and-lizzie-are-jo/1275314448108775/ #downindorset #downindorsetpodcast #podcast #dorsetcouncil #secondnaturepodcast #naturrecoverydorset #nfu

Tim used to think water meadows grew naturally everywhere - turns out, they’re all man-made! It’s crazy to realize how much effort went into shaping landscapes 300 years ago without heavy machinery. 👉 Tag someone who’s into historical land working or loves uncovering hidden truths! .Ever thought about how much effort it took before modern tools? Worth pondering #LandCraft #NatureVsManMade #DorsetVibes

Ever wonder how much water we actually use? 💧 Spoiler: It’s way more than you think. Drop a 💩 if you’re surprised by these numbers! Most of us assume we use around 62 liters a day—but the real number? Over 300 liters. That’s like leaving a tap running 24/7! 🚿🚗 From shower habits to car washes, we tend to take water for granted. Back in the day, sharing a bath or one wash load was normal
now, everything’s multiple taps and en suite bathrooms. But our water systems weren’t built for this surge in consumption, especially with populations rising fast. What’s one small change you could make today to save water? Thinking about it? It could make a real difference.Let’s rethink how we use water—every drop counts. #WaterConservation #SaveWater #EcoLiving #SustainableHome

Came for the crops, stayed for the drama. đŸŒŸđŸż I headed to Diddly Squat to hear from the team about the @cerealseventuk , but I think I caught them in the middle of their classic bickering. đŸ„ŠđŸ˜‚ We’ve all been there- you’re trying to run a serious business, and your partner suggests donkeys and herb gardens. 🐮🌿 Safe to say, those “f#%!ng” herbs* are a very sore subject. đŸ€ŹđŸ“‰ The full, unfiltered conversation is live on the pod now! What a joy to be on the panel representing CommuniTree at Dorset Local Nature Partnership's Annual Forum 2026! Hosted by the brilliant Podcast host, @second_natureuk , we discussed challenges and solutions to Nature Recovery from the perspectives of our work and projects. This was CommuniTree's first big event indoors, making it feel all rather official after several years of community planting events! Thank you so much to @mybcpcouncil , for continually supporting the project and now connecting CommuniTree to this excellent event. As a result of speaking on the panel, we've connected with organisations keen to help us with trees and funding, how exciting! And turns out, fellow panelist @sophieburry lives just around the corner from where CommuniTree is most active, and joined today's planting session! 🌾 Thanks for a cracking event! #naturerecoverydorset #poole #treeplanting #communityspirit

I ran as fast as I could 😂 because when the Universe calls your bluff, you better move! đŸƒâ€â™€ïž So grateful to Bizza for the hospitality and to Evelyn for the midwifing masterclass. What an incredible way to spend a morning on the farm. We ended up with two beautiful, healthy lambs! đŸ€ The second one gave us a bit of a scare being the wrong way round, but with a little assistance, they made it out safely. Mum is doing great and is already a natural. 🐑đŸ’Ș The full podcast episode with Bizza is out now on all streaming platforms—go take a listen to hear the chaos (and the cuteness) for yourself! 🎧 #LambingSeason #NewArrival #WomenInAg #SheepLife
