✖️IZZIE BEIRNE✖️ A solo exhibition hosted by Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery ‘By The Ruins I Often Pass’ A painted sunset glimpsed through a fogged window. A hazy bathroom sink. A butterfly trapped behind mouldy glass. A house on fire swallowed by night. Izzie Beirne paints at scale. These works suggest gentle domestic calm, alongside a creeping sense of voyeurism and entrapment. The exhibition title is drawn from Anne Bradshaw’s 1666 poem Upon The Burning of Our House, written in the aftermath of losing her home. Beirne pulls from historical and contemporary sources to build a language around grief, myth and the female body’s relationship to domestic space. Although this exhibition opens from 30th May to 16th June, we will be holding a mid-point late opening event rather than a typical opening event. Join us for drinks on 5th June 5.30 - 7.30pm Big thanks to Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery for their partnership on this event. @izziebeirneart @aceagrams @blackburnmuseum @themooseyresidenc

✖️IZZIE BEIRNE✖️ A solo exhibition ‘By The Ruins I Often Pass.’ We are delighted to partner with Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery to show these works in their watercolour gallery. Newcastle-born, London-based artist whose work often moves between cinematic manipulation, feminist themes and now, myth, nursery rhyme and the domestic uncanny. By The Ruins Often I Pass is her first museum solo. With a substantial number of new works created this year during The Moosey Residency, Izzie’s exhibition of new paintings promises quiet and chaos in the same frame. Izzie Beirne (b.1996) completed her MFA at Goldsmiths (2023), was recipient of The Almacantar Award and has been shortlisted for several awards. Recent exhibitions include The Second Act London, Guts Gallery and Plan X, Milan. Although this exhibition opens from 30th May to 16th June, we will be holding a mid-point late opening event rather than a typical opening event. Join us for drinks on 5th June 5.30 - 7.30pm @izziebeirneart @aceagrams @blackburnmuseum @themooseyresidency

Untitled Oil on canvas 122/122cm /2020 . . . . . Seven Pink Paintings was my second solo exhibition @prismcontemporary back in 2020. I created this work shortly after discovering that pink doesn’t technically exist as a colour, and became slightly obsessed with its elusive properties. . . . @second_act_gallery #dannydavidsonpaintings #abstract #abstractpainting #abstraction #abstractart

✖️PEARL CLUTCHERS✖️ Following opening, Bransfield’s baby pink hellscape continues to unsettle and delight. Visitors discover tiny contaminations - Rees-Mogg asleep, Musk’s salute - haunting the candy-coloured surfaces. Part of his sprawling ‘Populism’ project, these sketches and collages transform an unheard pop song into years of artistic exploration. Open until 7th February 11-4pm Thurs - Sat @woodsybransfield @aceagrams Brian Mercer Trust

✖️WOODSY BRANSFIELD✖️ Pearl Clutchers in full swing - Bransfield's punky salon hang creates a hyperspace between teenage bedroom and political war room. Pink drones for little girls hover near nuclear warheads, pearl necklaces frame media atrocities. The personal and political collapse into each other through baby pink oil stick and stolen materials. A desperately confused world of ice-cream politics and post-truth media, where NHS caring meets hypersexual excess. Open until 7th February 11-4pm Thurs - Sat @woodsybransfield Photography | @velvia25 @aceagrams Brian Mercer Trust

✖️OPENS TONIGHT✖️ Pearl Clutchers opens tonight 6-8pm Woodsy Bransfield’s sickeningly sweet world of pop confection meets political unrest. Where judges’ wigs collide with nuclear warheads, dressed in saccharine pink - nothing is quite what it seems. With walls hung like a process mood-board infected by current events, his new works on paper and steel lubricate the political-mood with bubble gum pop aesthetics. ✖️PEARL CLUTCHERS✖️ Google image searches for pink plastic drones, pearl necklaces, judge’s wigs and perfect penises haunt Bransfield’s new works. Tiny images of Elon Musk’s fascist salute and Jacob Rees-Mogg asleep in parliament contaminate the baby pink surfaces. Materials list as manifesto: stolen oil sticks, NHS Pantone 675 Caring Pinks, Uncle Robert’s brain scan, polaroids drunk on martinis, the gatekeeping of art practice, a desperate frustration, a miraculous recovery, a decision to keep living. ✖️PEARL CLUTCHERS✖️ Our next exhibition is a punky collision of pop aesthetics and political unrest by Woodsy Bransfield. Somewhere between a teenage fan’s bedroom and an eighteenth century boudoir, these new collages, screenprints and steel works sprawl across our walls salon-style. Baby pink meets political hellscape. Bubblegum confection meets conservative politicians asleep in parliament. NHS caring pinks blend with Kardashian campaigns in this sickeningly sweet exploration of our post-truth media landscape. Opening event Friday 23rd January 18:00 - 20:00  Open 24th January - 7th February 11-4pm Thurs - Sat Or by appointment on weekdays @woodsybransfield @aceagrams Brian Mercer Trust Photo: @mike__massaro
