As they prepare for their yoga retreat in Greece, Anna & Dina are raising funds to help refugee communities on the ground.
🧑🏼🤝🧑🏽 Second Tree is a community-led, volunteer-run grassroots NGO working with refugees in Greece. Their mission is to reshape how refugees are seen by society, and how they see themselves in return, through meaningful community engagement that empowers individuals as active agents of their own change and integration.

🧑🏼🤝🧑🏽 Second Tree est une ONG communautaire, entièrement bénévole, qui oeuvre en Grèce auprès des personnes réfugiées. Sa mission est de faire évoluer les perceptions entre la société et les personnes réfugiées, tout en favorisant l’engagement, l’autonomie et l’intégration à travers des actions concrètes sur le terrain.

Un incontro difficile da dimenticare per le classi seconde della Scuola Secondaria di I Grado. I nostri ragazzi hanno vissuto una mattinata intensa, tra ascolto, emozione e consapevolezza, grazie ai rappresentanti dell’ONG Second Tree, realtà che opera con i rifugiati in Grecia settentrionale.
L’organizzazione si impegna ogni giorno per cambiare la narrazione sui rifugiati, riconoscendoli come persone, con storie, capacità e aspirazioni, e non soltanto come vittime o eroi.
Nell’aula magna, le parole dei volontari hanno unito mondi lontani, trasformandosi in frammenti di vita: storie di chi ha lasciato tutto per cercare un futuro altrove. Le testimonianze dai campi profughi hanno reso visibili realtà spesso ignorate, dando vita a un dialogo autentico, fatto di empatia e domande sincere.
Gli sguardi degli studenti si sono fatti via via più profondi, attraversati da emozioni nuove: sorrisi per i gesti di solidarietà, silenzi davanti alle difficoltà. In tutti, però, è rimasta accesa una luce: la consapevolezza.
Non solo un incontro, ma un seme: l’invito a guardare l’altro come possibilità di incontro..
Un’esperienza che, più di una lezione, si è trasformata in una piccola e preziosa storia di umanità condivisa.
