The long awaited comeback comes this Sunday 12pm @ Market Road. @nkdons.fc vs @stokenewingtonac It’s been a long year but through my discipline, commitment and focus my recovery is nearly complete and I couldn’t be more excited. Suffering this injuring and going through rehab has taught me to respect my body, stay disciplined and not to take the little things for granted. I love to compete and I’m really proud to take the field again this weekend safe in the knowledge that I’m totally ready. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way and all my teammates, physios, coaches friends and family. @appihealthgroup @puresportsmed @gemesalan and @manigoalkeeper for the photocred and the finishing touches! #aclrecovery #injuryrecovery #getsome #goalkeeper

#Comeback I’m pretty proud of this knock for a few reasons. Firstly, this is my second 50 since coming back from my ACL injury. I have worked very hard over 7 months to play some cricket this year, when I really wasn’t sure if I’d be able to at all. Still a fair way to go on my road back to full fitness but it’s great to be back and to be able to do what I love again. Secondly, I got a duck the day before and I was proud of my ability to bounce back and stay confident in my ability and in my batting plans. One bad score doesn’t define your ability. Thirdly, I came in at 44/3 in the 11th over and as the skipper took full responsibility to recover the innings so it felt great to bat all the way to the end and help get the team up to 234/6 off 35 overs being out in the final over for 74 off 76 (trying a dirty slog 😬). Even though we lost the game, I’m proud of my own and my teammates performance. No matter the situation, no matter what’s happened in the past. It’s all about what you do to react in the moment that defines you. #wednesdaywisdom #cricket #cricketer #hampstead #westhampstead #aclrecovery

So honoured that @starsportsindia came down to the club last week to cover my comeback. All that practice of interviewing myself after a football manager session finally paid off. #AtTheEndOfTheDay #TakeThePositives #OneGameAtATime #IKnowItsACliché

Pimms, Sun, Aussie top of the pile and @sangalefthander . Top day @homeofcricket with @henrybexson looking like a couple of star struck dickheads with terrible dress sense. 🇦🇺🍹🏏 ☀️ #Lords #iccworldcup2019 #ausvsnzl #shiteshirts #waveygarms

So today is first day of the long road back. Everyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about sport and having lived without an ACL for four years, it’s has finally taken it’s toll. I didn’t have a reconstruction operation so I could play my final year of uni football for @ubafcofficial and I will never regret that. Alan Tyers bringing me on in the Varsity match made it all worth while. Since then I’ve had countless awesome memories skiing with my dad, my sister and my cousin in Canada, playing football for Old Kings, going undefeated for a season with @nkdons.fc and fulfilling a dream of mine: scoring a hundred for Hampstead Cricket Club, as well as playing 1st team cricket and becoming captain of the Sunday side. But after a severe buckle where my knee gave way whilst playing for a game for NK Dons (we got the W 😉) I’ve been forced into finally having the ACL reconstruction surgery. I had the procedure this morning and I’m happy to say all went well. The next stage for me is the long road to recovery. I won’t be able to play football for the rest of the season, I won’t be able to join my family skiing and will likely miss most, if not all of the cricket season. All of which is incredibly disappointing and a hard pill to swallow. Everyone knows I love contributing to the teams I play for and not being able to do that on the field is going to be very difficult for me over this period. I will also miss being able to bond with my family over great skiing days, especially with the great snow out there the season. But I will come back. And I will be stronger, fitter and more mentally resilient for it. It’s going to be hard. But with a support of my friends, teammates and family I’ll be back. 💪🧠💪🌲⚽️💪🏏💪🥊💪⛷ #ComeBackTrail #RoadToRecovery #IllBeBack Let’s fucking do this.
