🎞️ My Grandad and I spent days looking through his collection of Kodachrome slides from the ‘60s and ‘70s. I loved exploring the vibrant images he captured and hearing the stories behind them.

Jess lives in Qaanaaq, the most northern settlement in the world. It sits on the edge of the sea ice, with extreme and challenging conditions. In the winter the sun doesn’t rise for 3 months, while in the summer the sun never sets, continuously circling overhead. During this period, Jess and his friends reverse their day routine by staying up all through the AM doing as teenagers do; playing baseball on the ice, scrolling social media, going to parties, and talking about girls. He has lost many friends to suicide, and battles his own negative thoughts. Nuka visits to talk and help him navigate his struggles. He dreams of becoming a hunter, and is determined to make something of his life.
