GUESS WHATTTT??? GUT JOB season 2 is officially live on Hulu and I couldn’t be more excited for everyone who was involved in its creation. There’s so much I could say about this season… the designs, the builds, the stories the edits, but I’ll just leave it at this for now. Gut Job season 2 is some of our best work ever. I hope it invokes all the good feels #renovation

One of those weekends that reminds me why I love this work. The National Home Show was packed with people who care deeply about their homes and how they live in them. Great conversations, thoughtful questions, and a lot of fun on the Main Stage. Thanks to everyone who came out and spent some time with me. If you ever want to come say hello at a home show, keep an eye on my page. I’ll post when I’m speaking next. For those who were there, what was your favourite part?

No one starts something new with experience, it starts with a want, an idea, and it goes from there. I wanted “big people” speakers when I was 11 and no one was going to buy it for me, so I opted to make them myself. Old radios, scrap parts, my dad’s tools and some trial and error. They weren’t perfect but from that point on my clock radio was pumping the era’s top 20! Colour Me Bad - I waana sex you up, Wrecks’n’Effect - Rump Shaker, Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam What were the hit songs when you were 11 years old ?

What if I was the director shooting a home show and YOU 🤩 were the star I ask… “What’s something in your home you would never compromise on again?” The camera is rolling, the pressure is on and you have to tell me the first thing comes to mind! What would you say?

I often get questions from kids, parents and people looking to get into the trades. I answer to the best of my ability, but I never feel like it’s enough. Helping young people find confidence, real skills, and a path toward a strong future is extremely important to me. I want to do more than just answer questions, so I’ve spent the last two years working with @meridiancreditunion to build the Reframe Program. Young people don’t need saving. They need exposure. They need opportunity. They need someone to show them what’s possible. There is something really special about watching someone realize they are more capable than they thought they were. Yesterday started with a town crier. (2nd pic) Which feels appropriate, because this was news worth sharing. Meridian’s Reframe Program and @elephant_thoughts_outreach are coming together to broaden our overall ability to affect positive change. Also… I think every event should start with a town crier now!

The kids have been named! Once mum spent a little time with them, their personalities made it clear that they are not warriors … they are far more fun and special The bucks name is Pan named after the Greek god of shepherds and the wild. The doe is Pixie because she’s playful, mischievous, and seems like she’s already plotting something. Welcome Pam and Pixie !

I asked, you delivered. A burr grinder was the call. Tested it with Margo, who has strong opinions on coffee. Feels like we might be onto something. Still chasing the best cup of coffee at home. What should I try next?

“The best way to sound like you know what you’re talking about is to know what you’re talking about” Do you think they knew what I was talking about? — Tonight I’ll be speaking at Meridian’s Small Business Big Impact Celebration Dinner. It’s a night about recognizing the small business owners, builders, problem solvers, risk takers, and local leaders who do the work that matters. I’ve always believed small business is about more than making a living. It’s about creating opportunities, building relationships, and making a real impact close to home. Looking forward to a good room, some good people, and some good conversation tonight.

Like you, your house is always moving. And this time of year is when it starts to show. That cracked caulking? Completely normal, and completely fixable. This is one of those small skills that can help keep your home looking pristine. I might be working against myself by saying that… but it’s true. If you’re a homeowner, learn this. Want a quick walk through on how to fix it properly? Let me know below.

I’d never seen a live birth before this 2 kids 1 buck 1 doe 2:45 in the morning… because apparently that felt like the right time to make us all hold our breath I understood the biology but when you see life enter the world, it seems like a bit of magic It felt ancient, miraculous, slightly chaotic… and now we need names! Boudie is named after Boudica the English warrior queen who led an uprising against the Romans Help us name the kids! Let’s hear your best warrior names

The kids are coming. My mum and I sat down for tea and a quick little conversation while we wait for Boudie to give birth. We made our guesses… what are yours? How many kids do you think she’s carrying?
How many does? How many bucks?
And what time do you think she’ll finally decide to get this show on the road? Apologies for this slightly impromptu podcast-style video… although I have to admit, I kind of like it. Maybe some of you will too!?
