"He inspires each and every one of us."
Ex-Seashell student Harry was diagnosed with a rare genetic variation, and his family were unsure about his future. Now, 23-year-old Harry is thriving with a fulfilled life and dream job.
Harry started work experience at @thelightstockport during his two-year internship at Seashell's Royal College Manchester, and after graduating he was offered a permanent paid position.
"Student placements empower staff to understand complex disabilities and give them the confidence to work with anyone who may have additional needs," said Nicola Brown, Employer Engagement Lead at Seashell.
This is one of three clips showcasing Harry's story. For the full video, head the 'Stories' section of our website.
Imagine being told your baby may not survive the pregnancy. And if she did, she'd only live a matter of minutes.
This was the reality Lizzie and Bill faced when they were expecting their first child Imogen. But not only did Imogen live, she has thrived and is always being pushed to do more.
Her education at Seashell means Imogen will blossom from a child to a confident young woman. Hear more from Lizzie and Bill on this in our video.
* If you want to be part of our amazing staff and support students like Imogen we're currently recruiting for a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist. See this and all our current posts on our website (link in bio).
🎥 Did you see us on TV tonight?
We were so proud to see Seashell staff and students on BBC North West Tonight talking about employment after life at Seashell.

Yesterday we held our Preparing for Adulthood Transition Event, welcoming students, parents and carers to discuss post-college opportunities.
We had 24 local providers set up in our Stephen Lowe Sports Hall, including residential provision, day centres and work opportunities.
"When I started my role at Seashell I wanted to provide more guidance and support around the transition process," said Nicole, Admissions and Transitions Coordinator. "Having these conversations as early as possible helps to make the process clearer and less daunting."
Thank you so much to all the providers for taking the time to offer guidance and advice today - it was lovely to meet you all!
For Mental Heath Awareness Week, we were delighted to welcome Sarah Wilkinson from @your_artvr to Seashell Central this month!
Art VR is an innovative therapeutic virtual reality tool designed to support mental health and wellbeing. Through use of the headset users can escape from everyday stress and enjoy mindfulness and relaxation.
Our termly staff wellbeing event is a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues across campus over a free pastry and hot drink, with sessions in the morning and afternoon.
This time we also had our IT and Data Teams on-hand to support staff with their digital confidence, and a representative from our friends at @benendenhealth .

"Seashell is a family. I never want our daughter to leave."
We spoke to Nighat, mum of College student Iman, all about her life before she came to Seashell.
Iman's start in education wasn't promising. The mainstream school she attended didn't understand the needs of SEND children, often resorting to placing her in a separate room away from other children. This hugely impacted Iman's behaviour and ability to settle.
Now she is enjoying independence and education at Seashell. Our staff understand young people like Iman and we have the expertise and facilities to help her thrive.
You can read more about Iman's story and our work on our website - link in bio.
Today is #InternationalNursesDay!
We are incredibly proud of our nursing team, who play a vital role in ensuring health needs are never a barrier, allowing our students to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
"Unlike many healthcare environments where nurses may specialise in one area, our team works across multiple specialities," said Mairead, Lead Nurse.
"This reflects the reality of our students, who often live with several complex conditions at once. As a result, our team is highly skilled, adaptable, and equipped to respond to a wide variety of clinical needs."
Thank you for all you do!
We can't believe Strictly Seashell is this weekend and we've had some more exciting prizes donated!

Our College Student Council members took part in the Department for Education's national SEND reform consultation, titled "Putting Children and Young People First", which places children and young adults at the centre of decision-making.
College staff adapted questionnaires and created easy-read resources to support our learners to understand the questions and consider what they mean for their future.
By embedding AAC and accessible resources across provision, we are supporting not just communication, but also independence, dignity, and meaningful participation.
A special evening last night with Strictly @seashelltrustuk contestants ahead of next weeks dance off 💃🕺
Thanks @tashmcmason for hosting us.
Good luck to all of the contestants!
