In honor of my birthday month and being an Aries…. I couldn’t wait to post these pics of the cake I made!!!
I LOVE getting older!!
Everyone usually laughs when I tell them that. But it’s true!! Every year is usually better than the last. Meaning I’m in a better place mentally and sometimes physically. So what’s there to complain about?
To me, getting older means getting honest… about what I need, what I want, how I feel, and who I truly am.
A huge shift happened last year for my family and I and when I tell people I got divorced, the first thing they say is, “I’m sorry.” But why sorry? To me, it’s an opportunity. A second chance. A new path I didn’t see coming, but one I get to walk with open eyes. Am I sad my marriage ended the way it did? A thousand percent. That’s real. That’s life.
But we had an incredible 15 years. He helped me raise my kids into the amazing adults they are today. He showed me what a healthy marriage looks and feels like, and I’m genuinely proud of what we built together.
Now stepping into the dating world at 44, I’ll just say my ex set the bar pretty damn high 😂 I won’t settle for less, because I know the kind of love, respect, and partnership that exists. I’ve lived it.
And the truth is — I’m still young. I still have so much life left to live, so much to experience. My divorce didn’t end my story. If anything, it reminded me that maybe the best parts are still ahead.
So for my 44th birthday, my wish is simple: I hope I inspire someone, in whatever way they need. Maybe it’s the courage to start over. Maybe it’s to go shell at new spots, create something, try a new outfit, say F’Off when it’s necessary, share a doob with a stranger, or just laugh at the little things.
All of it counts. All of it is living. And I’m ready for every bit of what comes next.
