Today in the studio 🥸 being a sustainable designer to me means either using existing material to make new pieces OR helping people to maintain and continue to wear pieces they already have!!
I know it can be a lot easier to buy a brand new outfit for the price of alterations which help maintain something you already have. I always try and think of the future and what may be easier for me personally in this moment may and probably will cause our world and our planet to be drastically changed for people in the future. The fashion industry is one of the largest polluters across the globe. Synthetic clothes do not break down. And even natural fabric take time.
Let’s get back to buying things we absolutely love AND want to keep and maintain. Besides. Clothes can hold lots of memories 🫶 xoxoxo
