As a queer Filipino, I stand with Palestine, unequivocally. This is a genocide. There is no other option than to stop, to revolutionize. Since Nakba, Israel has oppressed Palestinians with the goal of continuing further into the Middle East. I have nothing but love for those out there who have been murdered, martyred, and those who are still surviving.
While this is a heavy subject, I believe as a part of humanity, as a part of nature, we have to hold some of that grief within us, and witness suffering. And despite that, we can also hold the joy and the love of the ones who have gone and are left. Empathy and love will prevail in the end.
Please check out @operationolivebranch and keep checking updates on accounts like @palestinianyouthmovement if you’d like to support Palestinians! There are numerous online resources for education but I really recommend connecting with an in person community :^). And happy Ramadan 🌙
Some other recent paintings! Solo adventured my familiar spots when I lived around Laguna since I hadn’t painted there in a few years. Spotted some fun creatures in the tidepools and took a swim at my favorite beach. This time of year the water is FREEZING but that day it was 65F (still freezing just like somewhat tolerable). The waves were choppy but I feel like somehow it made me paint a little better after?

Finally finsihed my old sketchbook and decided to paint this new one at my new apartment!!! So happy I found a place ONG! I’ve been meeting lots of new ppl while I’m out and about and I’m so grateful for the kindness and care of the homies~ even though the world can seem bad I promise there is still love out there!! And that’s why my sea animals are so silly this timee
My other Monterey painting!! Both this one and the kelp forest one I probably spent 45 minutes on. I was very distracted by the people around me and fish. There was this person who laid down on the concrete slab looking out into this exhibit for almost as long as I was painting. I admired how they could just enjoy the scene without capturing it. BUT this was the first time I saw a mola mola in person so I was really excited. I probably stared at this exhibit for a few hours total the few times I’ve been there!!
Slowly starting to post again!! Quick update:
I got long Covid so things are slow going for me rn. Been trying to make art with the little energy I have. I’ll be posting some paintings I did while in Monterey :^)
The Haunting at HOH!!! Little comic based off this costumed hardcore shown I went to a couple weeks ago. honestly the exhaustion i’ve been feeling recently is unreal and sometimes when things don’t go according to plan i feel crazy. The night was full of ups and downs but at the end of it all, I’m grateful i got to punch people in an abandoned house in the mountains, hold hands with my partner, and have amazing friends who love me even when i can’t be fun to be around.
The unicorn’s clearing from an ongoing project for class!! This room is part of a bestiary filled with strange and mythical beasts… the unicorn itself radiates a strange glow and is said to whisper the secrets of the wood into the water.
Preview of my piece for the @spikezine :D !! I’ve been doing a lot of projects under wraps so admittedly I might be quiet for a while longer. It was so much fun working on this piece and so refreshing to do an illustration :>!! To put in a little bit of a hint hint nudge nudge this piece was made based on my relationship w lesbianism (as a lesbian). Either way please support this zine when it comes out all the money is going to charity (to be announced)!!
