đŽ Curated Sonic Exploration of Diasporic Sound
đ Every Wednesday
đď¸ Next Event: 20th May 2026 đ
Weâre exploring the sounds of the diaspora as a living, breathing conversation - where rhythm, history, and futures collide in real time through improvisation and communal energy.
Rooted in London but reaching far beyond it, our SDW sessions draw from across the Black Atlantic and beyond, creating something fluid, spiritual, and constantly evolving.
Thereâs a new kind of live music ritual forming in the city - #SDWEEKLY feels less like a gig and more like stepping into a moment that canât be recreated anywhere else.
See you on Wednesday âźď¸

Freedom isnât always loud.
â¨Sometimes itâs subtle. Internal. Felt before itâs understood.
At #SDWEEKLY, freedom looks like:â¨
showing up as you are,â¨playing without fear,â¨listening without expectation,â¨being held in a room where nothing is forced.
Itâs in the moments where the music takes over.
â¨Where time stretches.
â¨Where you forget yourself -and somehow find something deeper.
Spiritual. Physical. Creative. Psychological.â¨All of it, moving at once.
This week, we lean into that.â¨Into voice, into rhythm, into release.
Come as you are. Leave a little lighter. See you Wednesday â¨

Lately weâve been sitting with the idea that sound isnât something you just hear - itâs something you move through.
A rhythm you return to. A place you remember.
Not a show, not a performance - just presence.
At #SDWEEKLY, itâs less about whatâs happening out there
and more about whatâs opening up within.
If you feel it, come be part of it.
See you Wednesday â¨

ĂKHĂYA (Noun) đĄâ¨
The Zulu and (Xhosa) word for âhomeâ is ikhaya (noun), which refers to a place of belonging, comfort, and family.
With the state of our current world, let us remind ourselves of the places we call home and cherish them deeply. Wherever our community exists is where we call home. And #SDWEEKLY will always be home for us all.
See you Wednesday đĄ

See you Wednesday. â¤ď¸
#sdweekly
Music is our medicine. âď¸đ
Earlier this week we stepped into a space that reminded us of something weâve always known - that sound is not performance, itâs a practice.
Not worship, but embodiment.
Everything living vibrates.
Plants. Bodies. Brass. Breath.
At #SDWEEKLY weâre not chasing spectacle - weâre tuning frequency.
Going inward and outward at the same time.
Letting the art of surrender become alchemy.
See you on Wednesday. â¨
#SDWEEKLY = UNINHABITED JOY đ¤
This joy is the kind that doesnât ask permission.
It lives in the involuntary movement of our bodies that forget theyâre amongst others, in voices singing along before we realise we know the words, in us connecting on stage so deeply we disappear into the sound.
Thatâs the pulse of #SDWEEKLY. A one of one community space where joy isnât performative or polished - itâs shared, honest, communal.
Where we arrive carrying the week and leave lighter and free, reminded that joy can be collective, and that music is one of the few places we still get to practice freedom together.
See you Wednesday â¨
#SDWEEKLY is something to be experienced and felt⌠the energy we co-create in this space is unmatched. Encourage a friend to come down and experience it too đŤâ¤ď¸â¨
Thank you for sharing your story with us! đ
