Imagine traveling across the U.S. without a phone, or a way to charge one if you have it.
Many immigrants who are released from detention centers are left on the side of the road late at night, with all their belongings in potato sacks and without access to a phone or charger, preventing them from arranging transportation, having access to GPS or calling their sponsor or families to ensure they make it to their destination safely.
Want to help? We All We Got San Diego @weallwegotsd is having a portable charger and phone drive to help folks safely complete their journeys.
You can drop these items off Tue - Fri 2-10pm or Sat & Sun 11am-10pm at Gossip Grill @gossipgrill_ at 1220 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92103. The drive runs through Monday, June 1.
Despite what this administration wants us to believe, ICE, Border Patrol and federal agents are not above the law. Nothing about our constitutional protections has changed. We must demand real accountability when federal agents harm members of our communities. We encourage folks to share this hotline with community members and call us if your rights have been violated by these federal agents.

One-third of Americans report knowing someone impacted by the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement, according to a new survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs.
This report follows months of aggressive, fear-inducing, and at times unlawful mass deportation and detention of immigrants under the Trump administration.

Seventy years after Brown v. Board of Education declared that separate education is inherently unequal, Black students in San Diego and Imperial counties continue to experience disparities in access, opportunity and outcomes.
With leadership from Amir Whitaker @drknucklehead_esq , @naacp_sdyouth , @the_becomingproject , and @ivsjc.npo , the ACLU-SDIC has published The State of Black Education: San Diego & Imperial Counties (SDIC) Report Card, which examines how these inequities manifest locally across nine school districts, using state and federal data alongside student and community voices.
In Amir’s words, “This is for the children who inherited closed libraries and open wounds. For the students thriving, in the system they were never meant to survive in.”
