We made history! 🎉
Today, the Homes for San Diegans proposal passed a San Diego City Council vote, moving us closer to giving San Diegans a fair chance at renting or buying a home in our beautiful city!
Shoutout to the San Diego community for sharing their voice on the proposal, and thank you to the San Diego City Council for advancing the proposal and allowing San Diego voters to have their say.

Grateful our community partners, Alliance San Diego and San Diego Housing Federation, laid out exactly why the Empty Homes Tax is a win-win for our city.
When more than 5,100 homes sit empty while families struggle to afford rent or buy their first home, we have a responsibility to act.
This measure is narrowly tailored, affects fewer than 1% of property owners, and gives San Diegans a fair shot at housing.
