🐐 Traffic Jam with a Purpose! 🐐
You might have done a double-take if you were on Hilltop Drive in Chula Vista this week. Fire safety goats made their annual trek to a new grazing site, and as always, they drew quite the crowd!
Cute? Yes. Critical? Absolutely. These goats help reduce wildfire risk by clearing brush and creating defensible space. As @mayorjohnmccann says, “The goats are undeniably charming—and that charm delivers a life‑saving message.”
A huge thank you to the @chulavistafd and @chulavistapd for managing traffic and to the neighbors who watched and waved as the herd passed by safely.
The goats hope it inspires you to clear those gutters and trim back dry plants around your home. Wildfire safety starts with all of us. To learn more, visit sdgetoday.com.

🤝 🚒 Strong partnerships make stronger responses. During Wildfire Awareness Month, SDG&E joined regional fire and law enforcement agencies at last week’s San Diego County Wildland Preparedness Exercise for critical, hands-on training ahead of peak wildfire season. With about 750 first responders participating, this annual drill focuses on real-world scenarios like emergency communications, structure defense and firefighter safety 💙.
