The Office of Student Affairs and the SDCCE Foundation proudly celebrated the 2026 Scholarship and Awards Program at North City Campus, recognizing an inspiring group of student honorees.
A heartfelt thank you to our Scholarship Committee and all the volunteers who made this exceptional event possible.
Behind every scholarship is a story. 💛
This year, 124 SDCCE students were selected from a pool of 321 applicants to receive a share of $95,000 in scholarships and awards — each receiving at least $500 to help fuel their next chapter.
Adult learners. Career changers. Immigrants. Refugees. People who showed up, put in the work, and refused to give up. Recognized nationally as a leader in free workforce training, SDCCE is proud to support students who are returning to school, advancing in their fields, and pivoting toward something new.
These recipients were chosen for their academic achievement, personal growth, and commitment to their communities — selected from one of the most competitive applicant pools we’ve seen yet.
To every scholar this year: we see you, we celebrate you, and we can’t wait to watch what you build next. 🎓✨

San Diego raised and destined for greatness from day one. Lil Niqo made his rap debut at just 12 years old and made history as the youngest artist ever signed to Def Jam Records at the age of 10. He’s co-hosted 106 & Park on BET, appeared on Lifetime’s The Rap Game, and has been building his legacy ever since with music on all platforms. 👑

We are thrilled to welcome Ruth Adams to Hoop Hysteria! 🏀🌍
Ruth is not just a player — she’s an active professional. Repping her home country of Guyana on the national team, she’s a FIBA Silver Medalist from the Caribbean Games and has been playing professionally in Spain since 2021. 🥈
But Ruth’s game doesn’t stop at the court. She holds a bachelor’s in English and an associate’s in Sports Management, and by day she works as a substitute teacher specializing in special education — because investing in young people is just as important to her as the game itself. She also runs her own private training program for young athletes. 👩🏾🏫🏀
