Did you know you can use Differential Uploads with Octane, Redshift, and Blender Cycles when working through the Render Network Manager App? Only the files that change are uploaded - everything else is reused automatically. Faster iteration, less waiting, smoother lookdev and animation polish. Perfect for individuals and teams rendering on the Render Network. Gaussian Splats look like 3D but can also be deformed and driven like particles. With @otoy Octane 2026 you can also drive unique tinting effects and color becomes a global tool you can use for stylized lighting effects and visuals.

Under the hood of every gaussian splat lives a point cloud - what this mean is we can do some really cool things! With points and particles being so relative - you can actually treat them as if they were the same. Here we're using @insydium_ltd X-Particles to drive a nexus particle simulation from the millions of splat points directly. This opens the doors to tons of creative opportunities for splats via XP with the full stack of modifiers and controls to take your splat assets to the next level! Rendered with Octane 2026

Just finished a fun experiment in @otoy Octane 2026 - I took a 1916 Oliver No. 9 typewriter, scanned it, and turned it into a full Gaussian splat object (top + bottom). Gaussian splats aren’t just about speed or optimization, they can also be about archiving, storytelling, and giving new life to old objects.
