Yesterday, on MLK Day, the South Carolina State University flag flew atop the South Carolina State House dome to honor being 2025 national HBCU football champions.
We are the first HBCU in South Carolina to have this honor.
A powerful moment. A proud legacy. A historic milestone. 🐾

Former South Carolina State defensive back Dwayne Harper will become the 15th Bulldog player or coach inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame during a ceremony on May 18 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia.
The event will begin with a welcome reception at 5 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m.

Steel girders now rise above the campus as construction continues on South Carolina State University’s new academic building, a $54.7 million project that will replace aging Turner Hall and expand space for teaching, research and student collaboration.
During a recent milestone ceremony, members of the Board of Trustees and university leaders signed a steel beam before it was hoisted into place atop the emerging structure.
