Hugh Grant said director Paul King "sent me a mock-up of the Oompa Loompa stark naked. And my little children were a little alarmed at that." King added, "It was one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen in my life. If it ever leaks out, a generation of children will be scarred." 📨 Read the screenplay of WONKA here: /wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Wonka-Read-The-Screenplay-Redacted.pdf

The book this movie is based on, “Killers of the Flower Moon: Oil, Money, Murder and the Birth of the FBI”, was written about true events. A series of murders of wealthy Osage people took place in Osage County, Oklahoma in the early 1920s, after big oil deposits were discovered beneath their land. The investigation into Osage County was the first investigation presented to the newly formed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It was led by J. Edgar Hoover. 📨 Read the screenplay of KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON and get another free film screenplay every month: /gFeSRf

“But apart from Scorsese’s heavyweight obsessions with Catholic guilt, redemption and retribution, MEAN STREETS is also just a movie about guys hanging out … This balance constitutes much of the film’s charm, with its affectionate, funny and compassionate look at the down-and-outers of a bygone Little Italy.” 📖 Read our thoughts of MEAN STREETS (1973) on our ScriptUp Blog 📖 (Link in Bio)

“DEAD RINGERS begs broader questions about individual self-worth and self-identification, and the nature of a society which forces people to conform — no matter how that might deform them.” 📖 Read our thoughts of DEAD RINGERS (1988) on our ScriptUp Blog 📖 Link in Bio

In sequential montage, a much longer timeline is condensed into a single sequence. Think of this type as a carefully executed highlights reel of whatever event or series of events you’re attempting to capture. One incredible example of this type of montage can be found in Pixar’s tear-jerker, UP. In just over 4 minutes, the entire lifespan of a relationship, from marriage to funeral, and everything in between, is conveyed with no shortage of detail or emotion. ✍️ Check out our revamped website and services 🎥 → Link in Bio

Writer and director Lee Isaac Chung shared how he would start teaching full time for the sake of his family and thought he would write one final script in the few months before the job began. Desperate for inspiration, he learned that writer Willa Cather initially imitated famous novelists who wrote about city life, thinking her own rural experience wouldn't be accepted. She felt unfulfilled and then wrote successful rural stories that were true to herself. She said, "Life began for me, when I ceased to admire and began to remember." Reflecting on this, Chung said, "I wondered if the voice was leading me to these words, so that I would begin to trust in my own… After writing 80 memories, I sketched a narrative arc with themes about family, failure and rebirth. That's how I got the idea to write 'Minari'; it began for me, when I ceased to admire and began to remember." 📨 Read the screenplay of MINARI here: /wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Minari-Screenplay.pdf

“Bergman lashes his characters to pursue his particular brand of introspection, relying on their human experiences to inspire their spiritual curiosity. The movie fiercely addresses itself to the agony of belief, the need to believe in a God who remains silent, mysterious, absent. It is a work of art that grabs believers and unbelievers alike, demanding an acknowledgement, rather than an answer to the most important question: why does anything exist at all?” 📖 Read our thoughts of THE SEVENTH SEAL (DIR.
