On Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting Warner Bros. Studios CrewHQ here at SEE! 🎥
The session gave our learners valuable insight into careers in film and TV production, including an intro to the CrewHQ Trainee Programme and Career Cultivator. They explored a variety of roles within the industry and received practical advice on how to take those important first steps. 🌟
Led by Jackie Campbell, who oversees CrewHQ’s entry-level programmes and champions accessible routes into film and TV, the session was both inspiring and informative.
Our learners thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were excited to be part of such a fantastic opportunity! 👏
Exciting casting call for young people in Edinburgh 🎬
Shaheen Baig Casting are looking for young people aged 14-17 to star in a new feature film, no acting experience needed, just enthusiasm and openness to try something new.
Written by Paul Laverty and supported by Screen Scotland, the film is set in an Edinburgh school and is scheduled to begin in June 2026.
The story follows a group of students from a “Nurture Hub” classroom, alongside a teaching assistant. Together, they form a student-led theatre group that explores real-world issues, culminating in a powerful final performance that transforms anger into expression and grief into art.
The Nurture Hub supports students who may find the traditional school environment challenging. The film will reflect a diverse group of young people from working-class backgrounds, including those with different neurological profiles (such as ADHD, autism, or dyslexia), as well as those experiencing anxiety, depression, or other life challenges.
They’re keen to hear from a diverse range of young people, especially those who connect with the story but anyone curious is encouraged to apply. Filming begins June 2026, with full safeguarding in place.
Parents/guardians can apply through scanning the QR code or email [email protected] (subject: “EDINBURGH FILM”).
