I’m reaching out to you all with the most vulnerable love and respect, and asking you for your help in keeping me from getting evicted. I didn’t want anyone to worry about me. I pride myself on being strong, on being there for others when I’m needed, on making my peers happy in spite of my pain. After the loss of my father last year, leaving a financially abusive situation, wrongfully being fired, and more trauma, it’s been nearly impossible to get fully back on my feet. I’ve been looking for a stable job while I freelance and sell my art and belongings, but it hasn’t been enough to keep up with my rent. If anyone knows anywhere that’s hiring or can get me into a stable income, please let me know as I am desperately looking, especially if it’s something in the arts/creative, but I can do anything. I’ll also be selling my personal wardrobe, my furniture, and my clothing brand at discounted rates to help make up the rent. If you donate, I’ll write you a little poem or a little song as a thank you. $5 or $10 goes a long way for me right now- and your help is the difference between me keeping my home.
My landlords taped a “notice to pay or quit” onto my door, giving me three days to pay them over $3100, not including the rent on top of it I have to pay as well. This three day notice just so happens to be timed while my property manager and her supervisor are out for two of the three days, which has left me unable to negotiate with them at all. They offered solutions in the form of a payment plan, then the three separate proposals I have sent to them have not been confirmed. I’ve been going back and forth with them just trying to get an answer so I know if I can pay in increments biweekly until I make the debt back, or at least extending the three days they gave me until the management are both actually back in office, but it’s impossible to be able to negotiate with your landlords when they do all of the above. I’m not sure what will happen after Friday 4/10, the third day, if they continue to not give me a clear answer and are unreachable. I can only assume the worst and try to prepare for it.
