Earlier this year, we documented our reupholstery service from beginning to end for a customer who has owned his Woodgate sofa for over 20 years:
Once the sofa arrived at our specialist factory in Norfolk, our upholstery and sewing teams began work simultaneously to prepare the piece for its next chapter.
As this sofa was originally made over two decades ago, it predates our transition to using exclusively natural upholstery materials. Rather than replacing everything unnecessarily, our approach was to retain and reuse as much of the original interior as possible, only replacing materials where needed with like-for-like alternatives to minimise waste and preserve the integrity of the piece.
The upholstery team carefully inspected the frame, fillings, and internal structure, carrying out repairs where required, while the sewing department prepared Michael’s chosen fabric, Memory 2 by Patricia Urquiola for Kvadrat. The fabric was measured, cut, and sewn by hand before the new covers were expertly fitted to the sofa and cushions.
After final quality checks, the sofa was wrapped and prepared for delivery, ready to return home for many more years of use.

This week’s interior inspiration comes from a CityLife apartment in Milan by Marcante-Testa, where a neutral new-build is transformed into a richly layered, art-led home.
Colour becomes the organising principle - extending from skirting boards to ceilings - subtly zoning the open plan while giving each space its own identity. Linoleum floors, curtains and bespoke architectural elements replace hard partitions, creating a softer, more fluid rhythm throughout.
Furniture and built-in joinery double as display, designed to house and rotate a growing art collection, making the interiors feel lived-in and evolving rather than fixed. The result is a home that feels both structured and adaptable - proof that thoughtful materials, colour and furniture can give new architecture depth, character and permanence. #SCPltd

Once the sofa arrives at our Norfolk factory, it is carefully stripped back by our skilled team. Layers of old fabric and upholstery are removed to reveal the internal structure beneath.
This stage allows us to fully assess the condition of the frame, springs, and padding, ensuring any necessary repairs can be made before reupholstery begins.
Every piece is treated individually, preserving as much of the original materials as possible while preparing it for a new life.

This week’s interior inspiration comes from Hill over the House in Singapore, designed by Linghao Architects as a radical rethinking of tropical living.
The interiors are defined by contrast - raw concrete surfaces meet soft greenery, while open voids replace traditional windows to invite light and airflow deep into the home. Spaces shift between cool and warm, light and shadow, creating a rhythm that feels both elemental and intentional.
The result is a home that feels immersive and quietly experimental - where architecture, material and climate work together to shape an interior that lives and breathes naturally.

Once the fabric had been selected, we scheduled the work at our specialist upholstery factory in Norfolk.
We then arranged collection from Michael’s home, before being loaded onto our van and set on its journey to our factory, ready for the next stage of its transformation.
