There are some new faces around here so I figured I should reintroduce myself. 👋🏼 I’m Sarah Catherine but nearly everyone calls me SC, so feel free to go with the nickname even if we don’t know each other personally. I’m releasing my first book, Styles of Joy, this February. It’s been a labor of love that I held close to my chest for a long time so starting to share it has been surreal, exciting, daunting…all of the things. But I’m a firm believer that vulnerability is valuable and joy is much needed. So here we go.❣️
I promise this page won’t entirely be book spam. Sharing what brings me joy means you can expect a little bit of this and a little bit of that while I’m on this book launch adventure.
That being said, book preorders *are* open (and so important to this process!). And as cringy as it might be to say this…the link *is* in my bio. Order up some joy and stay tuned for more fun. 🥂
Do you feel like you’re staying sidelined from this season because of grief and sadness?
In this conversation, @scperot brings compassion and practicality to a topic that often feels elusive, reminding us that joy isn’t something we “earn” — it’s something we can cultivate and choose, even in the midst of messy lives.
We talk about reclaiming joy after difficult seasons, the identity shifts that come with major life transitions, the science and soulfulness of joy, and why small, daily practices matter more than we think.
At one point, she says: “Joy can start small, just as hope does.” What a beautiful thing.
✨ Write JOY in the comments if you want to listen in and I’ll send you the link!
August slipped away 💛
…and honestly—hot take here—thank God because it’s the most confused month of the year. Summer weather without the summer perks? Idk.
But here’s what I do know: fall is loading and I’m jazzed. ☕️🍁🏈🍂🌻🧣🧡🦃🤩🔜
When I spoke at @campgreystone recently, I left feeling like there was so much more I wanted to tell those high school girls. So I started jotting things down. And now I’m sharing a few here. 💛
Like all advice, take whatcha want and leave whatcha don’t. 🌼
