Attending the @sonyalpha A7R VI launch event in NYC and reconnecting with @scottrobertlim sifu after his open heart surgery reminded me that learning is a lifelong journey.
When you hang out with Scott, you’ll usually find him in the moodiest lighting environments. Maybe not the most popular corner of the room, but as a true master of light, he always finds a way to create something epic out of almost nothing. Naturally, he gravitated toward the dark boxing ring set of the event.
Watching him shape light around the subject was a masterclass on its own. He generously loaned me his Sony on camera flash, and together we created these magical images in near darkness. I am forever grateful 🥹 for every opportunity to learn from him.
Moments like this challenge my limits in the best way possible. It feels good to step outside my comfort zone and push it further. That’s what I feel as a creative should always be doing.

The continuation and refinement of a classic…I had the incredible honor of being at the Sony A7R VI release and spending the entire day shooting with it.
What an amazing experience — not only getting to create some beautiful imagery, seeing my Sony family, but also having the chance to teach a thing or two about dragging the shutter with flash.
Images look so good SOOC, I edited all of these images only on my mobile phone.
Technology keeps getting better, but at the end of the day, it still comes down to vision, light, timing, and knowing how to create the look you want. Sony just creates the tools to get you there.
