Good news: found all of the snow from last week. Bad news: it’s pouring over the falls and filling the Snoqualmie Valley. This year really is hitting different. — #snoqualmiefalls #snoqualmievalley #flood #atmosphericriver #runoff

Join us Thursday, March 26th at 6:30 at @cripplecreekbc in Seattle for Art and Advocacy through Adventure! “Photographer and adventurer Scott Rinckenberger traces his journey from chasing powder around the globe as a sponsored Freeskier to building a deeper, human-powered relationship with the mountains close to home. Along the way, his pursuits have produced artwork recognized worldwide — and have instilled in him a powerful conviction that those who love wild places have a responsibility to protect them.”

Photographer Scott Rinckenberger spends plenty of time looking through a lens. Beyond snapping the perfect shot, exploring the mountains with a camera in hand has opened opportunities to connect to people and his home range in a new way. Sahale Peak, 2/11/26. The Cascade River Road is currently open beyond Eldorado TH, making a quick 2 mile hike to the Cascade Pass Trailhead. Got a pre-dawn start yesterday with @trevorkostanich and @snow_troopers to take advantage of a small snow refresh and fair weather. Our larger ambitions were aborted after finding variable wind slabs on top of facets in the north aspects above Pelton Basin en route to Cache Col. After a fun ski through a protected couloir brought us to the valley floor, we stepped into our Plan B: Sahale Peak. The weak snowpack was nonexistent on the solar exposed Sahale Arm, and we enjoyed an stress-free climb to the base of the summit pyramid. From there it was all laughs and smiles as we enjoyed smooth powder, windbuff and corn back to Cascade Pass. The skiing below the Pass is truly horrific glazed ice, but it was more than worth the good turns and amazing scenery above. All in all, a spectacular day out!

It’s been all lemonade out of lemons in the Cascades this season, but I’ve always loved how creative one can get with stable snow, clear skies and dry rock. I set out yesterday with @snowtroopers to repeat a linkup I first did a few years ago when I climbed the NE Buttress of Chair Peak, the S face of Bryant Peak and the south face of the Tooth in a day with @matthewjacksonhenry . Upon close inspection yesterday, we didn’t dig the conditions on NE Chair, so we opted to summit the east peak of Chair for a great corn run to start the day. Lunch came with a south facing corn run from the top of Bryant Peak, from which we traversed to the west face of the Tooth. We climbed the Tooth Fairy route, 7 pitches 5.9+. It was bone dry and perfect. The spectacular sunset that we enjoyed on the rappel more than made up for the terrible skiing in the dark on the way back to the truck. Such a full value day! #artthroughadventure @blackcrows_skis
