FITMENT - Volume 2: 1978 Corvette C3
Corvettes are a staple of American car culture and design, and happen to be something that I was raised to love. I try not to be too personal/subjective when writing about these things but it’s hard not to with this one. My dad bought this car in 1985 (I believe) and it’s been a theme of my childhood summers since I can remember. Nothing would get me out of bed faster than hearing him cold start it on a fresh April morning; anyone who has heard choppy, cammed V8 in their life will surely understand this feeling.
Elegance is not usually the word used for traditional American motors, you’re more likely to hear people comment on the raw power and aggressiveness, but you can’t hide from the fact that this is a pretty car. Two-tone silver with a rich maroon interior which is put on display to the world whenever you remove the T-top roof. I think after the C3, Corvettes lost a bit of their elegance, they became “cool” rather than beautiful until recent years where they might have redeemed themselves.
I hate to give my dad this kind of credit but, in his day, he was cool. Cruising around Croydon in either this or his El Camino. These cars are such a rarity in this country that they become eye catching, and when manoeuvring it for this shoot I felt the same way my father must have - driving it around in his 20s thinking he was the coolest man on earth - because it’s frankly hard not to feel that way.
Anyway thank you to my dad for lending it to me for the day, and thank you to the beautiful Laura who worked hard on styling and modelling an outfit that highlights that same era of fashion and automotive excellence.

A strangely long phone call
Decided to actually create something fun today rather than performatively drinking matcha and reading with my wired earphones x
decided to go through a few of the little things I’ve filmed this past year or so and compile just a few favourite shots and personal moments - it’s been a while since I’ve felt such a surge of creativity like I have recently, so I’m excited for all of the projects coming up; no matter how big or small x
p.s. a lot of these shots are from my roadtrip film which is probably the best all around compilation of my wicked awesome skills so go and watch that link in bio 😛
