Last month's TU News is now available to download from our website 📰 In April, a special report from Scottish PSC revealed Rosebank, UK's largest undeveloped oil project, could be sending over £200 million in profits to one of Israel's biggest oil companies, if approved. Rosebank’s co-owner, Ithaca Energy, is majority-owned by Delek Group, which directly profits from illegal settlements in the West Bank, while its subsidiary, Delek Israel, supplies fuel to the Israeli military (IDF). Profits made from exploiting the North Sea must not financially benefit a company with links to genocide. The Scottish PSC has officially served the government with new legal advice that approving the #rosebankoilfield project could put the UK in direct breach of international law. We invite you to join the SPSC Trade Union Network and to receive early sight of our monthly TU newsletter. You can download this and previous month's news on our website via link in bio. The same politicians who support Israel’s ongoing genocide in Palestine have responded to an attack that injured two Jewish Londoners by calling for a ban on demonstrations against that genocide. None of this is surprising. Those who support genocide will always seek to limit, constrain and ultimately ban opposition to the very crimes they arm and sanitise. The two million Palestinians trapped in the Gaza concentration camp and killing zone have a claim on our solidarity. Those complicit in this destruction - by action or omission, through arms sales or silence — must be opposed to the limit of our ability. We will not be intimidated Read the full statement⬇️ .uk/genocide-supporters-exploit-london-attack-to-call-for-halt-to-anti-genocide-protests/ #antizionismisnotantisemitism #palestinesolidarity #endgovernmentcomplicity

Scottish Palestine Solidarity, Nakba Day Demonstration, Edinburgh, May 16th 2026 136 weeks 952 Days A static demo was held today in remembrance of the 1948 Nakba that has been in continuation for 78 years. 750,000 Palestinians were violently and forcibly removed from approximately 700 villages, towns and cities with many massacres occurring. Since 1937 at least 51 massacres have been carried out in occupied Palestine culminating in the current and ongoing g€n0c1d€ during the last 2 years and 7 months. By occupied Palestine we do not mean what colonialist oppressors mean, always refering to the occupied territories as only being in the West Bank. Israel is occupied Palestine, and from the river to the sea Palestine will be free and Palestinians everywhere will one day realise their right of return 🗝️🙏🏼

SPSC joins the global boycott of Eurovision. The BBC, as a corporation, should not be broadcasting the competition again this year. Five countries have withdrawn from the competition, as calls grow for Israel to be banned as its illegal actions continue in Gaza and Palestine. Once again, the UK has refused to take a stand, unlike countries such as Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Slovenia and Iceland, where opposition to Israel’s participation has become increasingly vocal. Russia was swiftly removed from Eurovision four years ago, exposing clear double standards. While Gaza continues to burn, Israel once again seeks to polish its international image in Vienna. Less than two weeks ago, 181 members of the global flotilla were intercepted over 1,000 kilometres from occupied Palestine, in Greek waters, while attempting to challenge the siege on Gaza. Activists were detained, two remain jailed, including a European citizen, in what international observers describe as a clear violation of human rights aimed at silencing international solidarity with Palestinians. UNTIL ISRAEL IS BANNED FROM THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST WE JOIN THE CALL FOR: 💥Eurovision participants to refuse to perform 💥National broadcasters to withdraw from Eurovision 💥Local venues to cancel their Eurovision screening parties, and instead host educational events about Israel’s pinkwashing 💥Comrades to join the BDS movement and organise locally #bdsmovement #boycotteurovision2026 #isolateisrael

With the last sitting parliament Scotland was let down by complicity in the genocide in Gaza by MSPs who refused to engage with us. We had MSPs voluntarily joining CPGs called Building Bridges with Israel while Israel carried out a genocide and started illegal wars. Mothers Against Genocide Scotland worked hard to write a manifesto we are proud of to engage with potential MSP candidates. Today we are proud of those MSPs who endorsed our manifesto and were elected to the Scottish Parliament to represent kindness and humanity. We hope they continue to stand with us and stand up for Gaza, Sudan, Congo and all other nations suffering unimaginable pain. We want equality for everyone and a safer, brighter future for the children growing up not sure if they will see tomorrow. To the candidates elected, we look forward to working with you in the future for a Scotland we can all be proud of.

We are holding one-person protests outside of the KNOC headquarters in Ulsan, Korea.

On Nakba Day, Palestinians in Aberdeen delivered a letter to Dana Petroleum demanding the company withdraw from controversial Israeli gas licences to explore gas in Palestinian waters off the coast of Gaza. As Palestinians commemorate 78 years of ongoing dispossession, community members gathered outside Dana’s headquarters to say that corporations cannot profit from illegal occupation, destruction, and the exploitation of Palestinian natural resources without accountability and consequence. With ENI already withdrawing from the project, the message to Dana Petroleum is clear: follow suit and and your complicity. Years from now, people will ask what companies did during this moment of history. Whether they chose profit and supporting a genocide, or whether they chose principle and decency. #ongoingnakba #energyapartheid #righttoreturn🗝️

Our next wellbeing meeting is this Sunday 24 May 5:00-7:00pm at a lovely space in @lilayogaedinburgh . Make sure to book your spot on Eventbrite! About the group: For the past two years, we have been creating this community space to process anger, grief, burnout and other emotions. Sessions are based on group discussion (participation optional!) as well as identifying ways and skills to manage distress and difficult emotions. All sessions are facilitated by a mental health professional. While we've got some helpful tools, the real value comes from being in community with others who understand and are invested in supporting each other. Rather than a distraction, we see our relationships with others as a vital part of the movement. We've got a lot to do and there's no way we can get through it alone. However much you participate is entirely up to you. If you're new, we know it can sound daunting but we encourage you to join us if you're curious! Just make sure you RSVP with via the Eventbrite page so we know how many people to expect ❤️
