I met @KitKnows and @AliKhurshid in the summer of 2016 on a short film Kit was directing and Ali was DPing in Toronto. Over the years since then, we’ve ended up collaborating on multiple music videos and commercials. In those first couple of years together, it felt like our summers were just a cycle of back-to-back shoot days that turned into overnights. It was amazing - and a bit nostalgic - getting back together again for the “Doomed from the Start” music video for Liza. The whole piece is built from five long takes stitched together, shot on my Alexa Mini with Zeiss LWZ2 and Ronin 2. I’ve always been a fan of a good oner, so I was stoked on Kit’s concept & particularly that 1+ minute opening take. Grateful for the collaboration and for stepping back into that flow on set with these guys & the whole team Kit assembled. Looking forward to the next one. 🌊

I always love shooting with athletes, and this one was extra lighthearted! A few months before the 2026 Olympics, @gtbeez called me in for a few days of fun operating to capture “Team @cocacola ” alongside Director @mikemildon and friends. As per usual, we had a short window with each athlete to get exactly what we needed. I was bouncing between sets on gimbal and handheld with some beefy Alexa 35 & Arri Signature Zoom packages. Our days were enjoyable; inside with A/C during the summer heat wave and the interviews were nice and conversational. A few friendly Diet Coke drinking competitions later, we wrapped with some lively social pieces to show for it!

A few months after “The Cove” project, we found ourselves back in Malibu, CA. This time exploring the other restaurants on property and what else surrounds the Four Seasons Westlake area. After a day in the sushi & wine bar on property, we headed out to the coast to build a massive picnic on the beach. We spent the afternoon basking in the Cali sun. Even hiking the trails and coastline with our production circus felt oddly relaxing and easy-going. It was great linking up with my old friend and our focus puller on the shoot @juan_cinema . We met around a decade ago working the @tiltamax booth together at @profusionexpo . Can’t wait for the next one!

Sunny California has always held a piece of my heart! @FSwestlake has a beautiful property just North of Malibu, CA. The Cove’s poolside, lawn, greenhouse, & sports bar feel like your own backyard. It’s calm, warm, and wellness-forward in all the best ways. We spent a few days filming outside at The Cove with our gaffer @BrandonCabralFilm . It was super bright so we were mainly bouncing/diffusing light and finding frames that matched the feeling of the space. As always, any project with @Mark.Lupul at the helm directing & @TimmyDunks overseeing production is going to be great, and this was no exception. Well planned out from the start, yet room to grow & follow the flow. I’m super stoked with how all of this turned out! All captured 4:3 on my Alexa Mini /w Zeiss 15.5-45mm T2.6 LWZ, Canon R5 for underwater, & Kobena Super 8mm. Can’t wait to go back and relax next time! 🌴 ☀️

@Roots is a true Canadian classic, and it was amazing to work alongside @CruelCommons bringing their holiday spirit to life. Joining forces with @daniel__total is always a rewarding experience - his vision and energy make every project special and this one was no different! Grateful for everyone who contributed to making this campaign come together seamlessly over two days of filming.
