Nebal is a composer, poet, and scholar who creates music that bridges an interest in spirituality, philosophy, and cross-cultural dialogue as evidenced by his collaborations in dance, art, and poetry. He is inspired by his Lebanese heritage and the deep connection between his home country and the diaspora. He is a recipient of the Kim Allen Kluge Award for Young Composers, the Nathan M. Pusey Alumni Award, the James Ming Prize in Composition, and the Fromm Fellow Scholarship. He studied and has received mentorship from Mark Camphouse, Rob Deemer, Joanne Metcalf, Asha Srinivasan, Andrew Cole, Dirk D’Ase, inti figgis-vizueta, Alex Temple, Annika Socolfsky, Sami Abu-Shumays, among many others.

Barblina Meierhans creates works in the disciplines of contemporary music, music theatre and sound art.
She studied composition at the Dresden University of Music, viola, experimental music theatre and transdisciplinarity at the Bern University of the Arts and violin at the Zurich University of the Arts. She has been inspired in her composition method by the composition method of Prof. Mark Andre, Prof. Manos Tsangaris and Georges Aperghis. Her works have mainly been played in German-speaking Europe, sometimes also in Argentina, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, India, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Spain, South Korea, the UK, and were part of, among others, the Lucerne Festival, Spor Festival, Kammer Klang London, Münchener Biennale, Ultraschall Berlin, Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Festival Archipel, Festival Internacional de Musica Tacec, New Talents Biennale Cologne, and Tonlagen Festival Dresden. She has received several fellowships and awards including the Villa Serpentara Fellowship of the Akademie der Künste Berlin, the Werkjahr “Komposition” of Zurich - City of Culture, the promotion prize for young composers and musicologists dkv Leipzig, residencies in Bangalore and New Delhi by Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, art residency at the Cité international des arts in Paris, studio residency in Rome by Canton of St. Gallen, art residency at the NAIRS Contemporary Art Center, and the Trächsel scholarship BEST. For some time past, Barblina Meierhans became involved on different levels in the fields of teaching and artistic research, and she has given workshops.
