This is “Breaking Spells” Last night I hung my guitar back on the wall, picked it up again, and practiced a song called “Breaking Spells” that I wrote with @emeraldelizabethwrites . I was feeling heavy about the state of the world and our community. Today I was inspired after watching a few posts from @missmarianna365 and hearing my friend @girl_in_the_sky_with_diamonds say that her work is helping reverse the harmful expectations and mental conditioning placed on black and brown people for generations. That resonated deeply with me because I realized… I’ve always desired to do the same through music. Not to preach. Not to pretend to have all the answers. But to provide perspective. To encourage awareness. To remind people to think, feel, question, love, heal, and remember their power. I pray this song assists you with breaking: The spells of fear. The spells of limitation. The spells passed down through colonialism, conditioning, division, self doubt, and the systems that taught many of us to forget who we are. “Give it up now… all illusions, all fear, all confusion, all despair.” The time is now family.
