My new single, “Salutations”, is a true testimony.
This song represents a season of my life where I’ve learned how to trust the journey…even when I don’t fully understand where it’s taking me yet— much like the story of David.
There’s moments I feel stretched. Moments I feel overlooked. Moments where slowing down and rebuilding from the inside out is the only option.
For a long time I carried the feeling of being the black sheep — insecure, unsure, trying to figure out where I belonged. Truthfully, I’m still growing through some of that. With that being said, I’ve graduated into owning the power in walking differently.
So I’ll continue to grow into all this newness…keeping my eyes to the sky, feet on the ground, and be on my merry way to the next destination with God on my side.

because without it, and everything I’ve learned and endured through each step, I’d be a stranger to experience and a slave to the mundane. God always makes a way for us to grow even in the midst of challenging days. the best part about this journey is, there’s always light at the end of each tunnel—as long as you’re striving for it.
I’ve gone from moving at the speed of light, to frolicking with the slow moments of life…capturing goodness in it all. one thing I know from looking at the tracks behind me in reflection, grounding myself where my roots are is just as important as taking flight to unknown territory.

we’ve been cultivating our new joy since answering “yes” to this calling, first.
to be gifted with the honor of stewarding creativity, expansion, and guidance is something so divine.
we take pride in ushering our new blessing to Earth’s side in due time.
as an artist in this current climate, it’s easy to feel misunderstood, overlooked, and unappreciated. most times it’s like we’re keeping our heads down diving deep into the work alone, spending hella time crafting and refining the art in hopes to come out to a sea of people that immediately latch onto the project you just put so much of your soul into. 9 times out of 10, that’s not reality.
where I am now, I no longer fish for that outer validation as passionately as I did in the past. I’ve found so much more value in sitting in the work and appreciating it myself before I give to the world. it’s important that we first honor and respect our own creative processes and not be so tied to the outcome or worried about how many receive/consume it. that’s how we curb that sticky feeling of unfulfillment.
it’s not our job to control how we’re seen, however, it does feel good to be operating from an authentic, confident space AND be recognized even by a small room. im sharing this moment i experienced filming “Salutations” at @thereelgoldenmic where @emmanueljdavis dropped some beautiful encouragement on me I didn’t know I needed to hear. this feedback was soooo affirming and confirmed that the journey I’m on isn’t being traveled in vain.

These days, I’m letting God speak to and through me. Because that’s what’s allowing me to grow out of stagnant comfort zones and grow into more elevated levels of life.

Standing in the gap where the past no longer serves and the future is unknown, there’s me: shedding skin, letting go, and fully embracing all the new.
If you’re in a transitional phase, I get it…shit’s not always gonna feel comfortable, or packaged perfectly. I pray you’re in the process of saluting yourself for overcoming, and in the same breath, preparing yourself for that beautiful breakthrough waiting on the other side.
