🏕️ Snoopy's first appearance as a scout was in this Peanuts strip published 52 years ago today on May 13, 1974.
🧭 The storyline continues as Snoopy rapidly promotes himself from Tenderpaw to Beagle Scout (a pun on the Boy Scouts' "Eagle Scout") just two days later on May 15, 1974—a tremendous feat only Snoopy could achieve!

We all need someone–or something–to lean on sometimes...
“It gives me a real buzz when people write to tell me that the strip has cheered them up or when they’re depressed or helped them through a tough time of stress. I’m proud of the way Charlie Brown has turned out; maybe he’s a little less satirical than he was back in the Fifties, but he’s still basically the same character: a nice little guy... trying to get along with the world.” —Charles M. Schulz (1991)
This Peanuts comic strip was published on May 5, 1984.
