The People’s Artist competition. Try it before you deny it, and for those who are critical, consider the following:
1. This an open competition where anyone can compete, without exorbitant, up-front artist fees.
2. It is a fundraiser, which helps to support a legitimate cause, and ANY working artist.
3. Yes, you can ‘buy’ votes. Again, it is a fundraiser. Competitor artists cannot fund to buy votes. Period. They can only submit one, free vote, once every 24 hours.
4. Anyone not competing can help by making a donation/fund, for the cause, and buy votes for their favorite artists. If you don’t want to buy votes, you can submit a free vote, once every 24 hours.
5. It is not a pay-to-pay scam. Besides, people have fundraising for votes, support, etc. for decades, and this is really nothing out of the ordinary.
6. Artists are “real time hustlers.” If you are one of these hustlers, you know difficult it is in this business. Opportunities, support, and funding are even more scarce in this economy.
7. There are all kinds, types of artists out there. Choose and play your ground however you like, but respect all these creators, no matter what and how they make.
8. There are millions of grassroots supporters out there- individuals, galleries, small institutions working their a$$ off, trying to support artists and the arts, on a shoestring budget. It shouldn’t be this way, so perhaps this contest is a way to help support their cause, too and provide some relief.
9. Instead of seeing it as a scam and pay-to-play rigamarool, take the perspective of this contest as a means to support artistic, creative exploration in society, as a whole. We need more artists, and less bombs.
10. Vote for me, Mike Schuetz, your favorite artist.

Hi Friends!
I am happily and honorably in the running for The People’s Artist competition. I wholeheartedly believe in good causes that support the arts, enriches and empowers EVERYONE to create, support and love one another. You only get one trip around this Big Blue Marble, so you might as well make it count. I am making some of the best, most meaningful work, FINALLY, and I am grateful for any and all support.
Spread the word, spread the love.

I am very excited to announce this painting,”Cherry Glow Poppy Skull- Back to the Earth,” is mounted, framed, packed, and shipping out to Third House Studio in Van Nuys, CA for the upcoming exhibition, “MOLT.”
I encourage you to check THEM out and the show, if you are in the area!
Blessed be to those who believe in growth and renewal.
I am very excited to announce that this painting,”Kewpie Quip,” will be part of a group exhibition at Evolved Gallery, in Ventura, CA. Curated by Christina Van Ryzin, the show is titled,”Se7en,” and focuses on work that responds to the Seven Deadly Sins.
Like a perfect match, this work features a despicable human-kewpie-pig, who just so happens to have all of the deadly sins tattooed on its body.
Show opens April 25, at Evolved Art Gallery:
34 S. Chestnut St.
Ventura, CA
Opening reception: April 25, 4-9pm
I am EXCITED to share the announcement of my inclusion in Journal de Folie Issue #1, powered by the visionary Amelia. They work tirelessly to bring together meaningful writers and artists, collectively.
Based out of Melbourne, Australia, Journal de Folie is an independent literary journal with a focus on short fiction; and publishes work that pays close attention to interior life, language, and psychological tension, allowing space for ambiguity and uncertainty.
Please share, support, and celebrate.
