One question about how SchoolForce donations were being used. That was Eric Bookstein’s entry point. That was seven years ago. Eric is VP Strategy at Visa — and he puts that same financial expertise to work as SchoolForce Treasurer. What started as a simple question turned into his first Board role as Financial Secretary, and he’s never looked back. Talking with parents, helping teachers get innovation grant funding, and seeing his own kids at @nesbitpumas and Ralston benefit from @schoolforce programs is what keeps him coming back. This is what SchoolForce is built on — people who show up and bring their best. Tag someone who should know more. 👇

While California’s math scores dropped over the past decade, BRSSD students gained over a grade level. @nytimes noticed. We’re not surprised. New data from Stanford researchers published today shows 70% of school districts in the United States lost ground in math between 2015 and 2025. California’s average dropped 0.8 grade levels. BRSSD gained 3.0. This doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when a community decides public education is worth showing up for — with dedicated specialists, fully funded programs from TK through 8th grade, and the parents and donors who fill the gap the state won’t. Save this for the next time someone asks why community-funded education like @schoolforce matters. 📌 Data: Stanford Educational Opportunity Project, as reported by The New York Times, May 13, 2026. #schoolforce #brssd

We asked 5 BRSSD music teachers what they want parents to know. Their answers stopped us in our tracks. Save this for the next time someone asks why music matters. 🎶 #schoolforce #musiceducation

Meet Ying Gonikman — 7 years on the SchoolForce board, former president, and still one of our biggest champions for BRSSD students. 🙌 We asked Ying why she keeps coming back. Her answer? “I first got involved with SchoolForce when I learned about funding challenges in California schools, and I wanted my children, along with all students, to get the most out of their educational journey. Knowing that our kids spend most of their day at school, investing in their schools is one of the most direct and effective ways to support their growth and opportunities.” That’s what this community is made of. Follow @schoolforce to meet more of the people behind funding BRSSD’s schools.

Most elementary schools in our area don’t have a dedicated science specialist for 4th and 5th graders. BRSSD does — and it makes a real difference. As Ching-Pei Hu, BRSSD Assistant Superintendent, shared on the Science in BRSSD podcast: “Our kids get a much more focused science instruction, similar to what other kids get once they hit middle school.” That’s the SchoolForce effect. Your support funds the specialists that most districts can’t offer — giving BRSSD students a head start that lasts. 🎙️ Listen to the full episode - / #SchoolForce #BRSSD #ScienceEducation

These photos were taken two Sundays ago at Celebrate The Music. We’ve been thinking about that day ever since. Because what you’re looking at isn’t just a performance. It’s hundreds of hours of rehearsal. It’s music teachers whose positions exist because this community decided they should. It’s a school district that believes every kid deserves to find their voice — and a community that puts real money behind that belief. Celebrate the Music doesn’t just happen. It’s funded, supported, and sustained — year after year — by SchoolForce donors across BRSSD. The programs you see on that stage. The instruments in those hands. The educators leading those ensembles. SchoolForce makes them possible. This is what your support looks like when it’s fully realized. Follow @schoolforce to see more of what BRSSD students can do. #SchoolForce #BRSSD #CelebrateTheMusic #MusicEducation #BelmontCA 📷: Kaizen Photography

Let’s be real for a second… Public funding alone does NOT cover: ❌ Music & Art ❌ Dedicated Science Teacher for 4/5 Graders ❌ Librarians ❌ Counselors ❌ Reading specialists ❌ Many PE programs But our kids still get all of this. Because of parent donations to SchoolForce. Learn more /about/what-we-fund/ #schoolforce #brssd
