Official Selection: In "Bartogay Lake", an old man crosses the boundless Kazakh steppe, driving alone. Haunted by memories of a lost love, he stops by Bartogay Lake, flowers in hand. But as he tries to step out, his car door refuses to open, trapping him between past and present.
Directed by Paris-based Congolese filmmaker, Katya Mokolo, with 20 years of experience in advertising and a career that began in music videos. Among her most notable projects are collaborations on music videos, documentaries, and international films, demonstrating versatility and ability to work across genres.
