Celebrating Bird No. 6
Moose the Mooche live at Chez Paree, Montréal, 1953.
In Perdido he quoted „An der schönen blauen Donau“ by J. Strauss. How many quotes do find in „Moose the Mooche“?

Celebrating Bird No. 4
„All the things you are“, Massey Hall Concert, Toronto, 1953. („Unedited Version“ without Charles Mingus overdubs)
Bird missed his scheduled flight to Toronto and arrived later without instrument. He borrowed a plastic saxophone in a local store in Toronto, which he didn‘t like very much and appeard at 8:30 at Massey Hall. There was no rehearsal and no set list. They finished the first set with „YATAG“ aka all the things and took a break after 24 minutes.

Celebrating Bird No. 3
It‘s 1943 and Harry Warren composed No. 1 hit „My heart tells me“. Now it‘s 1944 and „Bird“ plays his version with Efferge Ware on guitar in Kansas City. But right now it‘s 2026 and it sounds still fresh to me...😌
