When I put together the first collection of them (□🪧) in December of 2025, I was certain that there would be a follow up. I was recently in Houston, and there was an absurd offering everywhere you looked. I shot Blanks² in a 4-6 week period, as an aside from the many other things I captured in Houston. I released my ʜᴛx² set on April 17th and while organizing the carousel a few days before that, I made the decision to set the blanks to the side. Images of things that were seen on, around, or at least led to by Rt. 61 (Schuylkill + Berks County, Pennsylvania). An even mixture of things that once were, and things that somehow still are. While putting together carousels this year, I kept stumbling into more of them hiding in my archive, and I shot plenty of new ones over the summer and fall while working on my new ‘Route 61’ series. It finally made sense to group some of these blanks into a proper set. I’ve been more interested lately in shaping my images into series, and this one just felt ready. I’ll release one more set before the new year, shot entirely over the course of 2025. Maybe in the new year I’ll try some shorter runs, like sets made over a day, a week, even a weekend. Now that I’ve relocated, it’s interesting to have carried a piqued interest for these orange objects. So much so, that I had inspiration to put together a set of eight photographs — four frames in this collection were made this year outside of the city where this interest began. Three never touched grid, only story. And the final 8/8 was a classic that needed to be involved in this carousel. :) I recently had a confused dude come out of the woodwork while I was shooting the sign + a bonus cone at an abandoned Rt. 61 carwash. He was a “caretaker” of the property, or whatever lol. He was genuinely trying to figure out what it was that I was photographing, but explaining my interest was basically impossible haha 🉑🦺👷🏻‍♂️☢️

I lived there from 2007 - 2022. I collected a lot of Philadelphia details. Despite carousels being an IG offering for years, I’ve only recently started putting together sets. It makes total sense to end the next two ‘Details’ compilations with compositions of interest from when I was there. Many of these were used before. Some never touched grid. Either way, this is the first time they’ve lived together (in a set), and that feels correct. ✦

Photography made in various locations, but many of the observations were had around Philadelphia. My archive runs deep, and I’m proud to pull this set together. It’s cool. It brings me joy to find interest in what most people overlook. I like that it can make you content wherever you find yourself. I’ve located abstract patterns and objects in a hood or a suburban “9-to-5 land”, over the years. I’ve narrowed down at least three evenly sized sets of this random style of imagery, this being Details ¹. I hope you can dig it. ✦

Over the years, it’s common for artists to lose work in hard-drive heaps or piles of nothingness (or both). That easily could’ve been me, but luckily I kept a long-running, minimal, vertical photo-only blog on Tumblr — and a few of those posts, mostly old Polaroid scans 🙃, literally date back to 2010, before Instagram even launched (yes, I’m old). In 2020, I shifted careers into front-end web development, spending most of my days editing data nested in .json files powering various companies’ user interfaces — those structures became second nature to me. Fast-forward to 2023, when I learned you can export both your image files and the caption data from your posts. A few Python scripts later, it clicked: the archive could exist on a GitHub repository, independent of any corporate platform. Having that archive mixed with a cloud drive has inspired me to revisit some of my favorite pieces, re-framing them to the 4:5 aspect ratio that I now prefer; and mix them with a few unreleased images.
