Beaming faces after a visit to San Giorgio and the most beautiful and picturesque venue for chamber music: Auditorium Lo Squero. As you listen to the music, you can watch the boats passing by and hear the sound of the lagoon waves breaking on the island’s shore.
The journey to San Giorgio is an idyllic adventure in itself. And the only fitting way to conclude such an excursion is with good food in the best of company.

Just before the premiere of LOHENGRIN on 12 April 2026 at the Teatro La Fenice outside the opera house, there were protests against the appointment of the new music director. Even just before the performance started in the hall again vocal protets. Then – during the final performance, it was announced between the second and third acts that all planned projects involving her had been cancelled, according to the opera house foundation in the Italian lagoon city... A historic decision, the unfolding of which we were privileged to witness. Protest can make a difference...
LOHENGRIN was performed in Venice for the first time in 37 years – with Markus Stenz conducting and Äneas Humm making his debut as the Herald. An unforgettable experience!

Beim Jubiläum der Mozart Gesellschaft Dortmund stand ein junger Fagottist im Zentrum – und mit ihm die Idee, dass Förderung mehr ist als nur ein einzelner Auftritt.
Elias Neuwirth spielte Webers Fagottkonzert mit bemerkenswerter Ruhe und Präzision, getragen von der Philharmonie Pilsen unter Rémy Ballot. Kein Effekt, kein Forcieren – eher ein kontrolliertes, reifes Ausloten von Klang und Linie.
Das Publikum im Konzerthaus Dortmund dankte es ihm mit großem Applaus.
Besonders berührend war eine Zwölfjährige, die zum ersten Mal auf dieser Bühne Blumen überreichen durfte und den Applaus erntete. Eine kleine Szene – und doch ein starkes Sinnbild dafür, worum es hier wirklich geht.
Die „Young Artist Matineen“ zeigen genau das: Es kommt nicht nur auf glänzendes Talent an, sondern auch auf Entwicklung, richtiges Timing und die Frage, wer diesen langen Weg wirklich gehen will.

On 15 May 2026, the percussionists Vanessa Porter and Emil Kuyumcuyan will release their first duo-album BETTER ME on the Label Neos. BETTER ME exclusively presents compositions by both artists that move between contemporary music, electronic sound art, and performative energy. At its core is a wider understanding of percussion: noises, resonances, and impulses become as important as harmony, melody, and rhythm. The electronics don’t function as add-on, but as an equal musical partner. A defining element of the album is the tension between control and openness. Composed passages seamlessly transition into improvisational spaces where decisions are made in the moment. Thus, listening itself becomes a process - characterized by movement, intensification, and dissolution. The album invites the listener to delve into details while simultaneously perceiving larger sonic movements. Thematically, the project reflects central questions of our time: the desire for self-determination, identity, and visibility. BETTER ME deliberately remains open—as music in the making, between acoustic physicality and electronic expansion, between presence and possibility.

Almost straight after our arrival in Venice we met with Äneas Humm in his favorite lunch place. By then he was almost a local himself, knowing his way around, having found favorite spots.... but he had not met Stefano yet :-) - our connection to Venice, a local, music connoisseur and lovely human being! Grateful to have such a friend.
After lunch he showed us the spot where some of Monteverdi's operas were first performed (a wooden opera house that burnt down), he took us to Cavalli's burial church where Luigi Nono's Prometeo was premiered in 1984 (San Lorenzo), Vivaldi's
baptismal church and followed his own path avoiding the few other tourists....
We treated us all with the best ice cream in town (of course Äneas' discovery who also took the last picture).
