Photo London! I would love to meet new people and talk all things photo and architecture! Join me at Booth P16 to chat and get a copy a signed copy of my new monograph, This Room Will Survive Me,: Architecture and Interiority (@schilt_publishing ) at Olympia. - Cindy
@cindy_konits signs âThis Room Will Survive Me: Architecture and Interiorityâ with @schilt_publishing at @photolondonfair on Saturday, 16 May at 4:00pm, Booth P16.
Using an unused professional instant camera found nearly thirty years after its purchase, and working with expired film, Konits makes self-portraits in sunlight and shadow within rooms and the surrounding landscape. The images address an interior, psychic dimension of experience within architecture.
Designed by @teunvdh of Heijdens Karwei, the book uses flaps and Japanese binding, with a structure that follows the workâs sequencing and is conceived alongside a ready-for-installation exhibition.

@schilt_publishing will host @dgold911 for a signing of her book âTransienceâ at @photolondonfair on Saturday, May 16 at 5 PM at booth P16.
Coming just a week after Motherâs Day, âTransienceâ feels especially resonant as a collaboration between mother and daughter, pairing Goldsteinâs photographs with intimate essays by writer @cari_lara .
Created over fourteen years and spanning hundreds of hotel rooms, the project began as a photographic exploration of physical and metaphorical space before evolving into a deeply personal reflection on upheaval, grief, healing, and rebirth.

In the book Behind the Hedges, photographer Will Vogt returns to a world he knows intimately⌠the unlikely combination of South Texas ranches, seaside cottages in Watch Hill, and the rituals of an American upper class that prefers understatement to explanation. His debut monograph, These Americans, captured the champagne-fizz bravado of the 1980s, and this second book is more like a well-aged Bordeaux: quieter, deeper, and far more revealing, according to our pop cultural arbiter, Lance Avery Morgan, who caught up with the talented man and his camera.

âUsually such portraits of the so-called 1% are biting and satirical â think of Martin Parrâs Luxury or Lauren Greenfieldâs Generation Wealth. Behind the Hedges acknowledges wealth inequality in the introduction, and quotes Fitzgerald on the âvast carelessnessâ of rich people in its epigraph, but otherwise it does not judge. Instead, Vogt throws open the door to this cloistered world, with its recherchĂŠ rituals and passed-down privileges, and invites us to make up our own minds.â
Hereâs an excerpt from a review of âBehind the Hedgesâ, the new book by @willtingflower .
Many thanks to @theobserveruk and Killian Fox!
