I first encountered the band Dream Theater through their EP "A Change of Seasons" in 1997. The solid and clean sound of the 7-string guitar in the intro made me realize that the band's guitarist was no ordinary musician, and the 24-minute song length gifted me with a comfortable slumber. Anyway, after listening to their breakout album "Images and Words," I was stunned and captivated by Dream Theater, and I became more and more fascinated with their guitarist, John Petrucci. One of my dreams when I was studying guitar and composition was to meet him someday and give him my album as a gift. After twenty years of dreaming, I finally achieved this dream. Just before Dream Theater's concert in Korea a few days ago, <GuitarNet>, the official dealer of Musicman Guitars, arranged a fan meeting for him. My band released an album last year, and I applied to attend the event, hoping to meet him. Luckily, I won, and I finally met him in person, someone I had only seen in videos and heard in recordings. I wanted to be calm since this was a moment I had longed for, so I spoke briefly to him in English, saying, "I play in an indie band, and we released an album last year. I brought it with me to give to you. I hope you can accept it." He looked truly surprised and then smiled kindly, saying, "Thank you." His smile was the most gracious one I had ever seen, and it gave me overwhelming emotions. Recently, I have been struggling with my work and feeling a bit exhausted.
