Award-winning quartet @thedzcombo returns with an evening of original compositions by pianist and composer Danny Zanger, alongside Jeremy Jones on the bass, Bejamin Drury on the trumpet, and Dan McNamara on drums. Joined by special guest saxophonist Ken Killian.
This performance also marks the announcement of the group’s 2026 Guest Artist Series — an exciting new season of live music and artistic collaboration at Voices Studios.

Last September @henrymatthiessen was asked to digitally fix or repair a 150 year old plus oil painting of Ely S. Parker, of the Seneca Nation, a Union General with General Grant and the founder of the Miner’s Masonic Lodge of Galena. A very old and damaged 24”x 38” canvas in a huge wooden frame. Henry brought Mr Parker to his Stoned Art Studio put him on an easel in his work area. Worked his vibe for 7 months, and close to 1,000 adjustment layers in Photoshop. They had extended conversations about life in general (no pun). The results were a complete digitally recreated canvas and presented to the Masonic Lodge during a photo showcase presentation he gave at Prairie Ridge of Galena . “Morning’s Glow” was painted at Mud Lake as the sun rose over the distant bluffs along the Mississippi River north of Dubuque. The original painting was purchased by a collector, but the print on canvas will be on site at tonight’s show at the @goldmoorinn in Galena IL! I hope you can join me on the patio tonight from 4-7:00!”

Creating with people again has sparked something unexpected... a renewed curiosity... a different kind of creative energy. Not necessarily portraits, but something a bit more conceptual. More interpretive and storytelling.
I’m not entirely sure where this direction will lead yet, but honestly, that’s part of the fun!
