🎥 Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) Then & Now One of the most iconic chase scenes ever filmed — the moment the T-1000 hunts John Connor through the L.A. River wash while the Terminator, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, races in to save him on the Harley. More than 30 years later, this filming location still looks remarkably unchanged. The famous concrete wash, the sidewalk, and even the old pylons remain almost exactly as they appeared in 1991. The biggest difference is the freeway in the background, which has been widened and remodeled over the years, creating a much different modern backdrop while the original location itself still feels frozen in time. A perfect reminder of how real locations and practical effects helped make T2 one of the greatest action films ever made. 📍Church Street - Burbank, CA #moviescenes #moviescenes #90s #90smovies #trending

🔥 Top Gun 40th Anniversary 🔥 40 years ago today, Top Gun was released in theaters and became one of the most iconic films of the 1980s. In this scene, ‘Charlie’ (Kelly McGillis) chases down ‘Maverick’ (Tom Cruise) after criticizing his flying in front of the other pilots. With Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” playing in the background, Charlie tries to justify her comments while Maverick starts his motorcycle, says he can’t hear her… and blasts off up the hill leaving the base behind. 🏍️💨 This location was filmed at the former Naval Training Center (NTC) in San Diego before the area was completely redeveloped. And notice the bike rider coming up the hill in the scene — that was completely coincidental and not planned. 😁 📍 Corner of Rosecrans St. & Roosevelt Rd.San Diego, California

🎥 Johnny 5 Lives! 🤖🚐 | Short Circuit Then & Now — 40 Years Later Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Short Circuit with another look at one of the movie’s unforgettable finale scenes filmed at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park. This moment takes place as Stephanie (Ally Sheedy) and Newton Crosby (Steve Guttenberg) desperately try to protect Johnny 5 while escaping through the desert in the van. Military forces surround them and demand they hand over the robot, but Stephanie and Newton refuse — insisting that Johnny 5 is not just a machine, but actually alive. What started as a military experiment had become something far more human, and this emotional showdown became one of the defining moments of the film. Moments later, Johnny proves once again how intelligent he really is by outsmarting everyone and surviving the military attack. Filmed among the iconic rock formations of Vasquez Rocks, the location still looks instantly recognizable four decades later and remains one of Hollywood’s most legendary filming spots. 📍Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park

🎥 Wayne’s World (1992) Then & Now 🎸🏒 “Car!” … “Game on!” One of the most iconic scenes in Wayne’s World is Wayne and Garth playing street hockey in front of their houses while stopping every few seconds for passing cars. The scene perfectly captured the laid-back suburban vibe of the early ‘90s and became one of the movie’s most quoted moments. Even though the movie takes place in Aurora, Illinois, this famous neighborhood scene was actually filmed in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, not Illinois. Wayne’s house was located at: 📍 7105 Texhoma Ave, Van Nuys, California Garth’s house sat directly across the street, and the hockey scenes were filmed right there on Texhoma Avenue. Over 30 years later, the neighborhood still instantly brings back memories of Wayne, Garth, and endless cries of “Game on!” 🤘 #moviescenes #thenandnow #comedy #90smovies #trending

🎥 Thrashin’ (1986) Then & Now Hook (Robert Russler) and the Daggers roll down Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach in this classic scene from Thrashin’, where they run into a group of breakers dancing on the boardwalk. Remember Hook’s line?……. “Breakin… it’s a memory.” Filmed here 40 years ago in 1986, this moment perfectly captured the mix of skate culture, street dancing, punk attitude, and the energy that made Venice such an iconic place in the ‘80s. A time capsule of Southern California street culture that still feels authentic today. Then and now at the exact filming location on Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach, where the vibe may have changed over the decades, but the spirit of the boardwalk is still alive. #moviescenes #thenandnow #skateboarding #80smovies #trending

🎥 Happy Top Gun Day! ✈️🔥 Then and now from the 1986 classic Top Gun. After being called out by Charlie (Kelly McGillis) for his dangerous flying in front of the other pilots, Maverick (Tom Cruise) storms out of the classroom toward his motorcycle. As Charlie tries explaining herself, Maverick fires up the bike, revs the engine to drown her out, smirks and says, “What? I can’t hear you…” before blasting off into one of the film’s most memorable scenes as “Take My Breath Away” begins playing. 🎵🏍️ This scene was filmed at the former Naval Training Center San Diego, which has since been transformed into Liberty Station in San Diego. The building seen in the background is now Solare Ristorante. Over the last 40 years, the trees and landscaping have grown in so much that they now partially hide the windows and structure seen clearly in the movie. Released on May 16, 1986, Top Gun is still one of the most iconic aviation films ever made — and every May 13th, fans celebrate Top Gun Day in honor of Maverick, Goose, Iceman and the movie that launched a generation into the danger zone. 😎✈️🔥 #TopGun #moviescenes #thenandnow #80smovies #trending

🎥 Better Off Dead (1985) Lane Meyer (John Cusack) is stunned to discover that Monique (Diane Franklin) not only fixed his prized Camaro… she knows more about cars than he does. Their chemistry really starts to shine in this scene, turning a broken-down project car into one of the movie’s most memorable moments. While the film is set in Northern California and much of it was shot in Utah, the Meyer house — along with the Smith house across the street — can actually be found in Glendale, California. And yes… I looked for the paperboy. No sign of him demanding his two dollars. 💵 📍1636 Virginia Ave, Glendale, CA #moviescenes #thenandnow #film #80smovies #trending

🎥 Duel (Then & Now • 1971) 1971’s Duel marked the feature-length directorial debut of Steven Spielberg — and he turned a simple stretch of desert highway into one of the most suspenseful chase films ever made. In this scene, David Mann (Dennis Weaver) is desperately trying to stay ahead of the mysterious Peterbilt tanker truck as it barrels through the tunnel on Soledad Canyon Road. Spielberg used the narrow tunnel and surrounding canyon landscape to make the truck feel even more intimidating, almost like a living monster hunting its prey. The roar of the engine echoing through the tunnel added to the tension and helped make this one of the film’s most memorable moments. More than 50 years later, the tunnel still looks instantly recognizable, and the isolation of the canyon makes it easy to see why Spielberg chose this location for Duel’s nerve-racking chase scenes. The movie went on to become a cult classic and launched Spielberg’s legendary directing career. 📍 Soledad Canyon Road Tunnel East of Agua Dulce Canyon Rd. 🎥 Lethal Weapon 3 🎬 Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover) pull up to this parking meter while trying to avoid getting a ticket. Riggs casually covers the meter with a brown paper bag, but Murtaugh immediately rips it off saying, “We’re not crooks… we’re cops!” 😂 Moments later, Riggs hears screaming, sprints across the street, and tackles a suspect holding what looks like a gun… only to discover it’s actually a movie scene being filmed — starring Murtaugh’s daughter, Rianne. One of the funniest fake-out scenes in the movie. This filming location in North Hollywood still looks surprisingly recognizable today. You can even still spot the old Odyssey Video sign in the background, even though the store has been gone for years. One major change is the huge powerline tower seen in the movie has since been replaced by a much cleaner-looking utility pole. Then vs. now… what details did you notice first? 👀 📍 4832 Lankershim Blvd

🎥 Spot the Difference 👀🎬 The Adventures of Cliff Booth vs. real life at Chili John’s In the upcoming Quentin Tarantino-written spinoff to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) pulls up to “Big Kahuna Burger” — the real life location is the legendary Chili John’s in Burbank. The wild part? The bottom photo shows how the building has looked for YEARS… which means the movie version was digitally altered with AI/VFX to remove and change parts of the real location. 👀 Can you spot everything that’s different between the movie shot and the real-life version? Looks like Tarantino and Fincher are embracing a little movie magic with modern AI tools this time around. And if this place looks familiar, that’s because Chili John’s was ALSO featured in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. 📍 Chili John’s 2018 W Burbank Blvd Burbank, CA 91506 🎬 The Adventures of Cliff Booth is currently scheduled for a 2026 release on Netflix and select theaters, though an exact release date has not officially been announced yet. #moviescenes #ThenAndNow #spotthedifference #moviemagic #trending

🎥 Back to the Future Part II 🚗⚡ At the McFly house, Biff Tannen (Thomas F. Wilson) comes running outside to show Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) the brand-new Matchbooks he had printed for his “Biff’s Auto Detailing” business. But before he can finish, the DeLorean lifts off right in front of him leaving him stunned as he says, “A flying DeLorean?!” This unforgettable scene was filmed at the famous McFly house in Arleta, California. Nearly 40 years later, the neighborhood still looks remarkably similar, making it one of the most recognizable filming locations from the trilogy. 📍 Real Filming Location: 9303 Roslyndale Ave, Arleta, CA 91331 #moviescenes #thenandnow #scenes #80smovies #trending
