Three handy updates today!
First, we've added "roles" for actors. This works just like "cams" for cameras, allowing you to build a diagram- or project-wide set of reusable, customizable characters.
Second, we've added a new lenses scope for "cam", which means A camera, B camera etc can have their own lens packages. Great for when you're shooting with very different packages, or for multi-cam where each camera has its own dedicated lens or two.
Third, we're starting to roll out beam spread for fixtures. It works like field-of-view for cameras, and for now it's just for Cloud Library items (available for Pro accounts). We're also updating the library to update any missing info.
Available now for all devices!

Try the new Frame item on your diagrams!
Scenario already has a variety of open frames and solids in its library, but often, you need more flexibility.
• Resize to any dimensions
• Tilt freely between flat and upright
• Choose from a variety of preset materials, or set a custom color
Available now for all users, all devices. How-to video in the comments!

New: shot lists in Scenario!
Organize your shoot in either direction, or a combination of the two:
• Add cameras to the diagram, and they automatically appear on the shot list
• Add shots to the list, and drag them onto the diagram later
We've also enabled adding multiple images to shots, updating the shot status, and other important info. When you're ready, you can export a PDF for your team.
Bonus feature: we've added a Patch List for fixtures as well. Manage all your DMX info in one place, and export as a PDF. (More improvements to this in the future!)

Sync project dates to your Google Calendar!
Keeping track of your work schedule now lives in one place. Connect your Google account, enable calendar sync, and all projects with dates – even shared ones – will appear on your calendar. Demo video in the comments!
We've also added some useful diagramming features:
• Curved wall points for more flexible floor plans
• Flip horizontal/vertical for groups, or multi-selected items
• Automatically saves any photos you take through Scenario to your device's camera roll

Sign-in with Google and Apple is here, plus "Cam" assignment.
Now it's easier than ever to create a Scenario account and log into new devices, using your Google or Apple account. Just follow the login prompts and you're set to go; no email links needed!
On the Diagram editor, create your Camera packages (A Cam, B Cam, etc) and assign them to Cameras. Customize their color and body type, then quickly add them by hovering or long-pressing over the "quick add" Camera button.
Demo videos or both in the comments!

Text formatting is here! Now you can style Text blocks and item labels with colors, bold/italic/underline, different font sizes, and more.
We've also added a hide/show button for item labels, so you don't have to delete their text to get them out of the way (this also makes them easier to find in the Layers sidebar).
Check out the text formatting video in the comments, and let us know what you think of our first release of 2026. And keep an eye out for our next release; it's something BIG.

Last January, we hadn’t even launched Scenario yet. It’s absolutely incredible how far we’ve come in one year! What started as a passion project that we built out of necessity has turned into a tool used by thousands of filmmakers around the world. We want to thank our users for the continued support, enthusiasm, and feedback.
2026, our story will be all about growth. Camera, lighting, & blocking diagrams are a fraction of what Scenario will do this coming year. We can’t wait to share more of our vision for the future of filmmaking.

Recover deleted work in seconds with the "Deleted" view.
When you delete a Project, Folder, Diagram, or List, you can "undo" it right away...but if one slips through the cracks, never fear, it's not gone! In the Projects view, select Status > Deleted, see everything you've deleted in the past 14 days, and restore it to its original place.
We've also updated the Projects sidebar in the Diagram editor to make it more obvious what's selected and what's visible. Available now on web, and coming soon to iOS and Android!

Today we're releasing our new Markup tools!
Time is one of the most important resources on set, and sometimes that means the roughest sketch of an idea is all you need. Our latest version of Markup strips away the complexity, and leaves clean and simple options for drawings and basic shapes. We've been working hard to refine this, and now we can't wait to see how you use it!
We've also added some new diagram items, including boats, vehicles, and a compass. And as always, some great little touches to keep you moving quickly.
Available now on web, and coming soon to iOS and Android. More info in the comments!

As I approach my 40th birthday, I’ve come to a realization that most people (myself included) wait their entire lives to make a change. Fear prevents so many of us from pushing the button and making a change.
While this is not @scenario_app final logo, It’s ages ahead of the previous one. @claytoncombe and I decided not to wait for perfection and just push the button. It’s not even close to being perfect but at least it’s a step in the right direction. Take fear and judgment out of the mix and just push the button!!
Build your diagrams even more quickly with Favorites!
We've all been on those larger projects where we're adding the same things over and over. Before, you could copy and paste – but now you can save nine "Favorite items" to add instantly.
• Assigning a Favorite includes label, colors, and scale, so you don't have to remake it every time
• Use the 1-9 number keys to add a Favorite where your mouse pointer is (or just drag-and-drop)
• Favorites are shared throughout a whole Project
Available now on web, and coming soon to iOS and Android!
