I just released this single today called Hum-Bird. This release was inspired by watching my kids play and some of the silly remarks they make, like my two year old developing a phobia of humming birds because they have long beaks. He’ll often come in from playing outside when he sees these birds and inform us hum-bird hurts till we convince him they are actually nice and won’t bother him. I think in the past I’ve leaned more into brooding music and heavier compositions but being around my kids, so much of their energy and youthful spirit has rubbed off on me in my writing lately. This hopefully is a reflection of that.

The word ‘community’ is used ubiquitously these days, maybe to the point where we don’t even consider its meaning anymore. The post-rock and post-adjacent music community, we believe, is as real as they come. In general you’ll find a less hyper-competitive field and more support and encouragement among its artists. The Post-Everything Collective is one such group of musicians who have come together and formed a healthy and supportive environment to create and collaborate in. We give to each other and share freely. We look out for each other and lift each other up.
It is in this spirit that we wish today to recognize two individuals who have made massive contributions to our community - Ronnie of WherePostRockDwells and Can of Worldhaspostrock. Each run their own YouTube channel sharing wonderful music with so many of us. They’re responsible for shining a light on upcoming artists and introducing many new fans to our genres. The amount of time spent and work done by these two is IMMENSE and we feel it deserves our gratitude and recognition. We believe that probably the best way to enable Ronnie and Can to carry on spreading the tunes and to thank them for all their years of service is monetarily.
