Today is my wife’s 30th birthday
I’m sitting here in the middle of Taiwan on our travels and just thinking about how lucky I am that I am here with you.
I wanted to write down a few things that make her so incredible, in no particular order:
The way she is the absolute leader in our relationship. I’m the one who takes forever to make a single decision, but she is so productive and just gets things done in a way that honestly I don’t understand. She’s the one who organizes these amazing trips, the one who pushes my ideas further when I’m stuck on a project, and the one who grounds me when I’m spiraling overthinking small details.
The most selfless person I’ve ever met. I’ll never forget the years of FaceTime calls during long distance days, or the fact that she actually let me move across the world so we could be together. She’s been my rock on my journey with alcohol and manages to make me laugh harder than anyone else.
Her appreciation for flowers and Ikebana, and fashion sense that completely changed how I think about style and clothing altogether. The fact that she still loved me when I shaved my head.
Traveling through Asia together and learning about her culture has been the best experience of my life. I didn’t think it was possible to love her more than I did, but spending 24/7 together on this trip has somehow made it happen.
