Growing our own future educators! 🍎🎓 We are thrilled to announce a $2.4 million grant partnership between SB Unified and Westmont College to launch a new Teacher Residency Program! This initiative is a game-changer for our community. It provides a $33,000 stipend to aspiring teachers, removing financial barriers for multilingual and first-generation candidates. Residents will spend a full year co-teaching in our classrooms while completing their credentials at Westmont. In the first year high schools were eligible to compete in the Pacific Southwest Regional Emmy® Student Production Awards, DPNews swept the board with 10 wins across news, directing, editing, and more.
