A decade ago I got the opportunity to workshop one of @jwijames first works KIll, Move, Paradise reading stage directions. I was fresh out of school and until that point I hadn’t read something so unflinching and bold that spoke to the community that I knew and lived so deeply. I would spend the next decade biting at any opportunity that would lead me closer to his work and witnessing each new story carry a unique and rich exploration of the multitudes of Blackness in this country and the history and complexity its people carry.

Moving to a new place, starting over, making friends and putting yourself out there in your 30s is tough. It's going on 6 months in LA and there are def moments of loneliness and melancholy. But ultimately I'm so grateful for all the amazing ppl I've met & connected w/ out here. The support and love I've received means more than you know. Thanks to all of my friends & loves pictured or not pictured (you know who you are). I appreciate you welcoming me into your spaces, check ins, invites, a boogie on a the dance floor, the constant reminder that I'm not alone out here.
