We are DecrimSB. We are a coalition of abolitionist organizations that have recently banded together by the urgent need to stop the Santa Barbara Police Department from expanding their power against a population in our community that will be disproportionately affected by the implementation of an updated massage ordinance. Legal doesn't mean safe. Massage workers, Asian migrant women in particular, are routinely targeted by police raids and stings that threaten their livelihoods, deepen stigma, and violate their right to bodily autonomy. This proposed massage ordinance is particularly concerning in our town as we see the violent increase of ICE kidnappings, this ordinance could put many in our community at further risk for deportation!!!
