Pizza in Chelsea, Tiramisu in Midhurst. An hour and a half of empty British countryside in between.
It was also my first proper drive in the little Alfa, takes some getting used to but is incredibly rewarding when you get it right! It might be sprightly with 160bhp and less than a tonne, but it was a tough fight against the newer heavyweight machines

After an expansion tank meltdown the night before in the 911, I took it as an opportunity to be co-pilot for the day. Join me on a golden hour lime bike to Chelsea and dawn raid down to @skyparkfarmwestharting for breakfast. Where do I even start?
2200 miles of autoroute cannonballing and the greatest driving roads the Alps/Dolomites have to offer.
What started as a 'free weekend' spiralled into the driving behemoth that included 4 nights, 5 countries and 9 cars, each with pilot and co-pilot.
The Goal: to hit every major alpine pass "best driving road" using up the least annual leave.
It's hard to explain how perfect the trip turned out, testament to Andy, Luke and their in-house route consultant, Pete.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather, clear blue skies and amazing sunrises/sunsets. There was something very Forza Horizon-esque about snaking through swiss mountain roads in formation, crisp autumnal leaves being pushed out of the way by aerodynamic forces as the sun sets behind a snow capped mountain.
Where next? Bulgaria? Greek Peloponnese? Norwegian Fjords?

Sunday plans sorted. Baltic x Girardo & Co, unveiling the 2025 Tour Auto watch.
It was also the first opportunity to drive the latest purchase, Andy and I's 2003 CLK 55 AMG. A purchase mostly driven by this oddly warm weather that is sure to now disappear. On this particular busy and traffic laden drive, the 55 proved the perfect antidote to my stiff and unforgiving 996, which I generously lent swapped with Andy for the cruise home.
