Just got off the Smith River after five days of perfect flows and clear skies. The fishing was decent on the first two days, but then the trout went on a hunger strike. Who can name the campsite where this video was taken?
Eddy (whose full AKC name is Sugarpie Eddy of the Teton) had his first dip in the lower Madison River today thanks to temperatures in the high 50s and no shelf ice along the banks.
Little Eddy had a big day today, taking his first short hike along the lower Madison River. Now he’s deep asleep on the couch. Or I should say - his couch.
Last night in Croatia, and the sunset was the most beautiful of our entire trip. Tomorrow morning we fly to Madrid, then back to Montana the following day.
After torrential rains in Dubrovnik this morning, everyone flocked to the beach. As one local woman told us, “you must swim in the sea after it rains.”
We woke up early this morning to walk the ancient city walls of Dubrovnik. There were no crowds at sunrise, and the light was magical. It is hard to describe in words how beautiful the old city is perched on a cliff along the sea. I felt much like I did when touring Machu Picchu for the first time. Breathtaking!
After six days of chilling out on Mljet Island, we took the ferry to Dubrovnik this evening as the sun was going down. This is the view of the old town from our apartment. What a stunning city! I can’t wait to start exploring it tomorrow morning.
Today we spent all day hiking around Mljet National Park, which is virtually deserted except for one place in the park where everyone takes a short ferry ride to see a 12th century monastery built on an island.
