We’re excited to announce Flex’s strategic M&A with Maza. This marks the official launch of Flex Consumer — our new arm focused on powering the full financial life of owner-operators. Joining forces, this brings together two incredible teams and product visions with a shared mission: helping ambitious business owners navigate their personal and business finances with ease, automation, and intelligence. Since the transaction closed, Flex has already seen 50%+ growth, a signal of the demand for solutions that treat the owner — not just the entity — as the customer. Together, we are: ✅ Expanding share of wallet by unifying personal + business spend ✅ Deepening customer retention through lifecycle-wide support ✅ Scaling a tech stack purpose-built for the modern business owner Huge thanks to the Maza team — from engineering to operations to customer success — and to founders @luce.ai @robbydowneyjr @sbilstein for driving this vision forward. We’re just getting started. Welcome to Flex. Let’s build.

When I was leaving Israel in May 2022, I had wanted to post something documenting our year there; something that captured the complexity of Jewish identity, Israel, the conflict, and my own immigration history. However, even this simple photo of a Mexican restaurant a few blocks from the US embassy, run and owned by an orthodox Mexican family that made aliyah, felt scary. My entire life I’ve been asked though mostly told by non-Jews, “you must be Sephardic” and I respond “no the Spaniards kicked the Jews out in 1492; virtually none of their descendants exist in modern Latin America. My family is Ashkenazi, we went from Germany to Peru in 1939.” It’s been months since 10/7. I’ve been asked a lot of questions by my business partners, my mentors, and of course Jewish friends. I appreciate the questions, even if you don’t see eye to eye with me. I can count on one hand the sympathetic words from anyone (not-Jewish) I know socially, through college, etc. I can count to 1 to tell you how many progressive friends / “Bernie bros” have discussed any aspect of this issue with me. It’s been weird. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Israel or if ever I will make aliyah…but I was in Lima recently, my place of birth, where my extended family is for the most part…and it was clear where I have felt most at home in my life, Israel.
